Derek Cox
Rashean Mathis
Aaron Ross
William Middleton
Mike Harris
Rod Issac
Ashton Youboty
All could possibly have outplayed him in an open camp.
And Kevin Rutland is getting a roster spot because of how well he played on ST last year.
Sucks because I think he was one of the better of the bunch. I think he or Middleton were the 4th and 5th best CB on the roster. |
I'd add Kevin Rutland to that list also. I think he has some potential. But, we have plenty of corners and Coleman wasn't versatile enough. All of these corners minus Isaac and Harris can play inside or outside. |
I think we still need to give Issac another year at the CB position...he looks like he can possibly turn into a Brian Williams-type player. _________________

| Although we are really deep at the position I still would have like him to make it through TC. He played great last year for us. |

| I don't like the move and also think the starting DBs will be this Cox 1, Ross 2, and Mathis at slot to keep him healthy all year. |

Yea why drop a guy who can do both and ST? Aaron Ross or Mathis will be the inside guy.
Nickel Corners are expendable. _________________

| Kind of unusual timing given the injuries, but really, if losing Coleman is going to be a major difference in wins/losses, we're probably going to be in some significant trouble either way. There are a lot of guys in on limited spots there, and despite the fact that the injury concerns linger for a bunch of guys, you still can't carry that many guys. Just have to go with the ones who give you the best chance to win, and hope for the best health-wise. If guys start going down again, Gene goes fishing down the depth chart and off the street again just like last year...maybe we find some more 'keepers'. |
