I'm sorry for any grief I caused anyone with my point of view. I've been looking at this website since 2005 and joined in 2007... I don't post very often cause generally someone already has said what I was going to say. I'm here to talk football and I won't talk about my personal views again.

Sorry again for anyone who was personally affected by my comments.

Don't apologize for your viewpoints. Everyone has the right to their own opinion. Some people might not agree with it, but that's part of the deal. You didn't say anything wrong.

He didn't apologize for his viewpoint.

Several posters shared how if they had his viewpoint it would very negatively affect their lives.

He apologized if his viewpoint hurt anybody, I believe in that context it is appropriate.

Well, whatever you want to call it I still don't think it was necessary.

No big deal. I have no problem with it. This is for discussion. Like I said earlier for all I know you could be Seau's physician. You think how you think. Very Happy

He was the reason I wore 55...

It's sad yes but if this is confirmed a suicide, I've lost respect for his memory. People can talk all they want about the stress of life after football... The fact is the man was a father and if that isn't enough of a reason to put the gun down I don't know what would have been... Don't be sad for him be sad for those he wasn't thinking about this morning...

Sorry if this offends anyone, but if your a dad, man up and love your kids...

As someone who has experienced the death of a father due to suicide, this post is just ignorant. Junior taking his own life doesn't mean he didn't love his kids, give me a break. He was obviously in a dark, dark place that you have never experienced, so how can you judge? You weren't in his head and you have no idea that "he wasn't thinking about [his family] this morning." Some people are so self loathing that they feel their family would be better without them, but quite simply, you don't know and are in no place to analyze his judgment. Suicide is a very complex psychological matter and your black-and-white view of the situation ignores the shades of grey involved with any suicide.
Just curious. Do you know Honolulu? How you do you he he
has never experienced it? Can you say for sure he hasn't? I mean in reality he could be Juniors physician for all you know. He may know that he was being selfish.

If you are going to assume he doesn't know what he is talking about then assume that you don't know, that he doesn't know what he is talking about.

There is an awful lot of people in here that judge others for judging. Hypocrites run wild I guess.

I think you're completely alright. As I said, I've been pretty close to this issue in the past, and the selfishness and irresponsibility is definitely something that those that are left behind have to work through. I had severe anger conflicting with a million other emotions towards my brother for a long time afterwards, and your thoughts were definitely among those going through my head.

Maybe in the future when you're doing this though, keep it specifically to JS... "He was a father, that seems selfish to me". Kind of a thing.

I can't speak for anyone else but I don't believe your comments warrant an apology of any sort. If our replies made you feel compelled to apologize then it's us that should be apologizing.

If my responses in anyway lead to your apology then I'm sorry for my role in that outcome.

All of us have our own beliefs and disagreement is to be expected.

its really sad man...He was the reason i switched from QB to LB in high school(that and I couldnt throw further than 35 yards with any accuracy)...great guy. It just sucks that this is the life that many pro athletes go through after leaving the game that brought them their lives for a great part of their time on earth. Hopefully, he is in peace now and we can start to examine the effects of long NFL careers on the brain...

Carson said he predicted a rash of NFL suicides because of the neurological damage that can occur from playing the game.
“I knew how I felt as a player, having those thoughts of suicide, and you’re going through something and it’s like you can’t really explain what you’re dealing with, and it’s neurological,” he said. “You have these deep bouts of depression, and people think you’re depressed because you’re not playing anymore. You’re depressed because you’re having neurological issues that are very difficult to describe.
“When you’re dealing with depression and these issues, then you feel like you’re going through it by yourself. Sometimes you feel like there’s no place to turn. ‘Nobody can understand what I’m going through so I’m going to end it all.’ Especially for athletes, who are very prideful individuals.”

A little more balanced outlook on what Seau was dealing with.
