One question. Why do we have to cut Ovie? We have enough CAP room to sign the rookies and it looks like we're not making any more big FA acquisitions...

Hes getting paid to much. And coming back from that injury hes gonna be a shadow of his former self.

And we drafted his replacement that is a better fit for our new offense. 3 strikes and YOUR OUT!!!

Why would we get rid of the best blocking fullback in the nfl? Even if he is coming off a really bad injury. If money is a problem next year then dump him then. Besides, we don't even know just how good this new guy is...

Read my last post referring to Ewing.

That combined with Ovie's health concerns is why.

We have no idea if Ewing will be able to come in year one and block for anyone. And we have no idea whether Ovie will be healthy. What we do know is he is under contract this year and was the best blocking fullback in the nfl.

There are 6 scenarios here. First is we keep Ovie who manages to be healthy and Ewing is ready to replace him. We trade Ovie for some pretty good value. Second is Ovie is heathly and Ewing sits for a year and takes over after Ovie's contract is out next year. Third is we keep Ovie who turns out unhealthy and Ewing takes over. Fourth is we release Ovie and Ewing takes over easily. Fifth is we keep Ovie who is unhealthy and Ewing doesn't turn out. But the sixth, very scary scenario is we release Ovie and Ewing doesn't turn out.

If I can count, we have a 3/4 chance to be good at FB and maybe even a good trade if we do nothing.

But if we release Ovie, there is a 1/2 chance we have a poor fullback.

Obviously the odds aren't completely accurate, but generally speaking, we're better off keeping Ovie. Unless the money were giving him goes to a free agent or two, and if so, please name who we would bring in to make it worth the risk.

Robinson is going to play nickel. Grimes/Samuel outside. No real surprise. Although the article said that Robinson struggled when he played nickel in Houston. However that was early in his career.

as a rookie he did struggle... however, this will be great for the team... I'm excited to see this as the nickel package:

----------------------------Decoud----------------------------------Moore

Grimes----Robinson-------------Weatherspoon-----------Nicholas--------------------------Samuel
-------------------------Abraham------Peters------Babineaux----Edwards
--------------------------------LT-----LG-----C-----RG-----RT-----TE
