He's got character concerns. It's assumed that he along with his brother took most $ offered when it came to signing day. It's also assumed Arthur transferred to K-State and Bryce decided not to sign with Miami to avoid connection with Nevin Shapiro. Still more than worthy of a 7th _________________

But I thought all our picks hit needs and the only prospects I didn't like we're Foles, Kelly and the HB. Polk makes that up though. |
Kelly and Jones from the Ravens will be fighting for the 4th T spot. Safety we could use a guy like Yeremiah Bell, but if Bowles and Juan have faith in Jarrett or Bowles knows Bell is over the hill or done, I'm fine sticking with what we have. |
And what if Dunlap or even worse, one of our starting tackles gets hurt? Then you're relying on a scrub who hasn't kept a job yet, and an unknown rookie.
I don't think Bell is the answer at safety at all. We don't need a veteran back there unless it's an elite veteran. We need someone who can provide legit competition to be a starter. We have a bunch of mediocrity there, but no impact players.
Then Chas Henry was one of the worst punters in the league last year.
Who do we have backing up Kelce, who for all we know might regress? Steve Vallos and Zane Taylor? Those guys are camp bodies. If Kelce gets hurt, we're screwed there.
Then we only have two tight ends, and I would prefer to keep one of the tight ends as an H-back. I see no point in keeping a fullback that will play less than 20% of offensive snaps, when we don't actually have a dominant fullback and Harbor/Celek can do the job just as well. So we should get a third tight end for depth. In this case, a veteran would be fine. Shiancoe would be my first choice. _________________

Mike Gibson is probably the backup C, and we brought in a Punter to challenge Henry.
Lol a 5th round rookie as your 4th OT is not bad. _________________

All this post draft hype towards our team is strange - we're usually the ones getting bashed for our picks, not praised. _________________

Nevin Shaprio is a huge Miami Booster who if I remember it correctly is in jail for embezzlement or some kind of white collar, money crime. He's been outing a lot of higher profile former Miami players saying he bought them cars, paid for bills, paid for vacations and many other NCAA illegal benefits. _________________

Is it me, or was that an actually a smart decision from Brown? I can't wait to see all the camp competition. _________________

As for my post draft thoughts:
I loved this draft just as much as most of the boards for a few reasons.
1) I think the first 3 picks (Cox, Kendricks, Curry) added a physical presence and a violence to the defense that we have been lacking. All three players are tenacious attacking players that can put a hit on a player/QB.
2) I one of my favorite parts about the draft is how many "value" picks that we made such as Curry in the late second, Boykin in the 4th, and Washington in the 6th were all tremendous value selections.
3) Competition. Avant/Hall have to worry about their roster spot with McNutt, Hanson is being challenged by Boykin, Matthews needs to have a put-up or shut-up type of year with all the competition at LB. There is not one spot on our roster just being handed to someone without a slight challenge. You could argue FB and P but UDFAs were brought in and even if Brown doesn't reach his potential as a runner he has the size to be molded into a decent FB. _________________

I doubt Brown have the mentality to be a FB. But I agree with the rest.
If Brown will play here, it'll be as a RB. _________________

Chris Polk should beat Brown out to make the roster. Bryce Brown, to me, is just a lost cause of an amazing talent. The kid had it all, besides mental stability. _________________

We'll have to see. But yeah if we judged from his college career, he's not mentally stabile, but maybe the Eagles can bring the best out of him. _________________

No doubt, kids obviously got talent, but that's not enough to get you by in the NFL. Hopefully he can bring in to together and take his game/mental level to the next stage.
He has little wear on his body, so if(in the rare case) he does put it together, he could be scary good. _________________

Brown doesn't have the mentality to play RB either. Believe me I hope he turns into something decent but after Nate Ilaoa I've learned to accept the fact that 7th rounders and 7th rounders for a reason. _________________
