Yup. If not for the injuries, he may very well be in the Ring of Honor. The guy was a stud. _________________

I hope he doesn't have to start right away and is used only in certain scenarios. I think it would be better for him. _________________

He won't. Austen Lane is a very good early-downs end but not much of a threat on passing downs - that's where Branch will come into the rotation.
Also, don't forget about Kampy. If he's fully healed, as he should be, he will be a quality every-downs end - nothing dynamic anymore, but a guy who can step in and be effective on any down.
Branch should round out the position nicely. _________________

Yea, I really like our DE rotation. _________________

Yea, I don't see anybody having to play heavy downs besides Mincey. If we can get effective NT play, this has the makings to be one of the better lines in football. _________________

I wish we had kept Leger Douzable though. _________________

He can be a rotation guy on pass downs, gain size, & hopefully be a everydown player next year. _________________

Me too. I'm sure there was a reason, maybe money related, but I thought he was the best backup we had on the defensive line last year and he's very versatile. _________________

I'd call that ideal. But, if he ends up being dynamic at his current weight and role, I would have no issues letting him stay in that capacity. _________________

| Pretty happy with this pick. Not jump up and down excited, but i don't mind it at all. Like some others, i would've preferred Curry at the pick, but Branch certainly seems like a good option with some real potential. Should fit nicely into the rotation this year, and hopefully grow from there. |
