Lets look at where the Needs could be coming from for Next year before we just start throwing names out there. I understand everyone has their favorite guys and wants to put there out ther, and Im fine with that, its great and what this site is about. I just want to go over where the needs for this team will be so we can distinguish between our Favorite prospects, and guys who the Rams might actually be looking at.

Linebacker: This is the one that everyone will go right after, and rightly so. But 2 things are important here; 1- You have to assume they extend Laurinaitis, with as good as Snead has been as the GM, if he doesnt get JL and Long locked up, all that good will he has built up will be right out the window. We do have a Franchise Tag, but that only takes care of one of these guys. 2- We dont yet know how Fisher will actually value LBs, how important they will be to his defense. As of right now they dont seem to be a priority to address, especially if we are going to be spending alot more time in 4-2-5 like it looks like we will. But it will likely be addressed sometime next draft, but not sure how early that will be.

Offensive Tackle: I personally think that we will be just fine here, that both Saffold and Smith are good Tackles and can be bookends for this team. BUT there is definitely the big possibility that we need to get atleast one Tackle next year. One problem could be that one of them doesnt step up like I (and others) think they can. The other problem comes with Jason Smith's contract. Sure we made a restructure for this year (which actually only saved us like $2.5mil with his accelerated 2014 bonus into this year) but next year he has an $11.25mil roster bonus wich is almost certianly not going to be picked up unless he is an All-Pro RT (and even then maybe not) So unless we can get a new deal worked out, he could be gone even if he has a good year.

Guard:Harvey Dahl was great for us everywhere last year. But we still have a hole at LG. I like Rok alot, but who knows what he will give us, and Robert Turner is more of a nice backup. Maybe we look at some of the Vets out there still for this year like Vernon Carey or Jake Scott, but going forward, getting another young powerful Lineman that we can count on for years would be nice.

Defensive Tackle:Yes we just got Brockers, and I see him going to be a Beast, and we also signed Kendal Langford who will be very good for us. But like CBs, you cant have enough guys to have in the Rotation. They would be more of a depth guy, but another guy in the trenches is always needed.

Runningback: Steven only has 2 years left on his deal, and there is probably a huge drop off coming somewhere. But apparently Fisher sees Pead as the successor to Jackson, and I dont know if I disagree. There is a whole lot of Chris Johnson in Isaiah Pead. I love Lattimore, and many will be wanting him since we have Two 1st rounders, but I dont think we will be pressing to get a RB early next year.

Safety: I like Quinten Mikell alot, he was great for us, but remember he is already 31, and he is making a TON of money over the next 3 years ('12: $10mil, '13: $7mil, '14: $8mil) Not to mention we look to be playing alot of 5 DB sets with early ones likely being 3 Safety packages. Also remember, although we all like Stewart, its only been one year he still has to prove himself. I still think Murphy is best suited as a Safety, while he and Trumaine are those tweeners and could fill this 3rd Safety role.

Wideout: Are Quick and Givens the guys for the future? Im not sure, I do like them both alot, but will they show enough in one year that we can pass on some of the WR talent early next year with 2 First rounders? Amendola is likely gone next year, he will be a UFA and we probably arent giving him as much money as someone else will to be a Slot receiver. Will Salas step up in that spot some this year? Will Pettis stick on the team with the rest of his suspension to go? And Steve Smith isnt totally healthy while only on a one year deal.

Tight End: Im going to be 100% honest here, The Lance "Hadbricks" thing really annoys me. I dont think it is one bit funny, and alot of you dismissed this kid halfway thought his rookie season like he will never be anything. Even when he was out there being our 2nd best blocker on the field after Harvey Dahl. Not to mention he was never really put into the offense very much. His problem wasnt that he has bad hands, it was all mental, you could see it when you watched the games. He was always thinking about getting upfield before catching it, or looking for the hit to come before securing the ball. I think he is a good Receiver, and will be a completely different guy with an OC that loves his TE in Shottenheimer. It took Vernon Davis 4 years and public humiliation to do anything, Fred Davis just started to be the guy he should have been last year (year 4) Jared Cook hadnt done anything till his 3rd year. Even Dustin Keller, who has always been solid, was much better all around this year, his 4th. We might be looking at guys next year, but I dont see it being a #1 type, because Schotty has never looked like he wants to run the 2 TE offense.

Putting our Needs in order for next year right now, taking into consideration what is likely to happen, and importance of position It would look something like this:

1- Guard
2- Wideout
3- Offensive Tackle
4- Linebacker
5- Punter

Many wont like LB that low, but it just doesnt look like its going to be a major focus for this defense. And OLB has become much devalued in the 4-3 defense across the league.

I feel that linebacker (OLB at least) in the 4-3 scheme is becoming less and less valuable and Fisher has understood this for a while now. I dont have the exact stat but he hasnt draft a LB in the first 2 rounds since forever haha.

I dont think Saffold is the answer at LT. So i think one of the first rounders will be used on that. Depending how our WR core does this year and the amount of talent that will be coming out, expect us to use our other first or our 2nd on WR.

The other priority I believe is FS. Idk if Mikell fits in the scheme, and he is old and paid pretty well. Like I said, a guy like TJ McDonald would be a very nice addition that would give us a scary secodary.

We all know he struggles against better pass rushers, especially the stronger ones. I hope he is the answer, but i would rather have someone a bit stronger protecting Bradford. Thats all.

One of my favorite prospects next year is Barkevious Mingo. Not sure if we really need him but he could be a monster defensive end. I'm sure we could find a place for him.

Have a feeling a Tackle will be a need next year. I'd rather Saffold and Smith can hold down those two spots for a long time but not sure it will happen. Wide Receiver will likely be the other first rounder.

I love that guy and was hoping we could've grabbed him in the 2nd this year. Then he decided to stay in school.... Damn! lol

Rolling Eyes You all really need to cool it on this. Regardless of what you think of him, he had a darn good Rookie year, and now one down year and some of you are talking about replacing him?

Even if he had another down year, we still have Way too much money invested, with a #1 overall pick also invested. He isnt in any danger of being replaced, so lets just stop this nonsense right now.

Chill bud. I don't want to replace him yet. But it won't stop me from looking into QB prospects if Bradford has a bad year and one or both of our picks puts us in top 5 position.

Especially if it is our pick that is in the top 5, and there haven't been any extenuating circumstances preventing Bradford's success, it would be foolish not to consider the possibility, especially with the new rookie scale.

I say there is less than 1% of Bradford being replaced, but some of those guys I mentioned will be Juniors, and could be options next year should Bradford fail to develop.

This is a pointless thread. College hasn't even played a game yet and no one's even signed a contract yet from 2012
