Now, I got to thinking. Lets say Brockers turns out to be a good DT for us and Jenkins is a good CB. I think both those guys could really put our defense to another level, if they reach their potential.
Realistically speaking, I don't expect us to make the postseason next year, nor do I expect the Redskins to make the postseason. So we could possibly be looking at two top 10 picks in the first round next year.
Not to jump to far ahead, but our future is looking really bright as of right now. Not to mention we have the Redskins first round in 2014 as well. This is an exciting time for us and I'm looking forward to it. We have a real shot to build our team into a legit contender these next couple of years. Hopefully we nail these draft picks.
I'm pumped. _________________

Agreed. It's nice to see some sunshine on the horizon for this team. Its been a while. Our future resides on drafting well, particularly with 2 firsts next season and the following. Lets hope our front office knows what they are doing. If they do, we should see the playoffs again _________________

If Golfer is being optimistic...I don't think the rest of us on here can think otherwise!
In all honesty, I'm very surprised as Fisher's draft style here... Normally he's a little more conservative with his picks, but every single draft choice so far has been a risk. Brockers is raw, Pead is raw, Jenkins has character problems, Johnson is raw and has character problems., Quick is raw. Sure, you could make the argument that every single draft prospect is raw, and that's very true. However, I think the barometer for being able to tell which ones are more NFL ready than others can be used. I would say out of the 4, at least one of these guys is going to struggle, and I'm sure two will struggle in the first year.
But I also feel that there's a good likelyhood that at least one will turn into a stud, maybe 2. 2 studs in the first 3 round would make this draft successful. 3 studs, and consider it one of the best drafts the Rams have had in ages. _________________

Here's what I'm hoping. At the very least, Brockers turns into one of the best run stuffers in the league. That along with Long and Quinn would be amazing. I'm also hoping that Janoris Jenkins can produce as a CB. Not necessarily INTs, but just quality coverage, which I believe he can do.
Quick was a good pick at WR, but I think he's a #2 guy in the big picture with the potential to be a #1. I'm not really worried about it, because we should have two pretty high draft picks in the first round next year, and there are some STUDS at WR, MUCH better than the WRs in this draft. _________________

I think that, although all of them are "raw", it will help them develop as a unit and as a team. With JL55, Finnegan, and Long providing leadership on the D side of the ball, I believe that alone will help them hone their talents on the field, and less issues off. Finnegan will help those character issues be channelled on the football field, and less likely in strip club shoot outs.
I also believe that the competitions in practice will produce better players on both sides of the ball. I think you will see a growth in the receivers that we have on roster already (specifically with Salas) in having great cover corners on them each day. |

I don't think that's an effective way to look at it. If none of these guys are pro-bowlers, but all are productive 4+ year starters, then this will still be the best draft we've seen since - Vermeil.
There's no telling who will struggle, but I have a gut feeling that Brockers will never be a "splash" type player. I'd be very happy if he has a similar amount of success as Ryan Pickett. (Don't bash him, he's had a good career)
I think you are going to see a very aggressive and physical defense this year. People forget that it was already a good defense, even with practice squad CBs. We've added some serious talent to interior defensive line and have completely re-vamped our secondary. This is a defense that could surprise people in 2012.
This offense has more of an uphill battle ahead though. We've addressed every need that the the roster had, but can it come together to average 20 points per game this year?
If the answer is yes, then I could see this team finishing at or near .500 _________________
