I didn't see a post about this on here, but after watching this on NFL Network I couldn't believe it. How could a player go from #13 to #100... Any thoughts? _________________

Lazy running combined with bad run blocking....
But, his peers obviously noticed a difference in his own personal running style and play...
Let the argument begin on which caused the downfall more. _________________ "I'm not locked in here with you. You locked in here with ME!" |

It's both, and we all saw it. Of course the run blocking sucked, but that was not the same CJ running the ball last year. Very hesitant in the open field. _________________

Not even sure I'd have had him in the top 100 going off last year alone. In fact, I'm pretty positive I wouldn't.
To answer your question about how you go from 13 to 100 though, your play declines? Down years happen. _________________

He'll be right back in the top 15 once he starts running behind Velasco.
Note: I plan on referencing Fernando whenever possible for the foreseeable future. _________________

The Pickle deserves every mention he can get.
A bigger question than how he dropped so far is how he's even in the top 100 this time around. He looked like hot garbage almost all of last year, for whatever reason. His lack of effort was apparent more than once. He needs to get his stuff straight quick. This team is moving towards a wide open passing offense and right now Ringer is the better RB in passing situations.
Er so I got sidetracked. Point is, CJ fell that far because he looked that bad. Truth be told he probably was ranked too highly at #13, although I don't really understand the criteria by which players are ranked on this list. |

Honestly, I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it because I didn't expect him to even make the top 100 after last year. Although he did manage to still have a 1000 yard season, I believe he made the list because of the player's respect for his ability the threat he poses. Hopefully this drop in rank will put that chip back on his shoulder and we'll see the hungry guy that we drafted once again. _________________ Wedding Vow: I promise I will love you until the day you really p-ss me off. |

| The 2nd half of the year he was a top 3 back stat wise. Saying he was hot garbage the entire year is a stretch. |

I said almost all year. Outside of huge days against Tampa Bay and Buffalo (two of the worst defenses against the run in 2011) he had stats that were ho-hum at best. He only scored 4 touchdowns all year. Come on, he looked like crap last year. His stats sucked and it was apparent he either wasn't trying as hard as he could or he's lost the burst that made him so dangerous. |

Cause they needed to make room for John Kuhn, Donald Penn, and Tim Tebow above him.. durr.
Marshawn Lynch should also be offended by only being 94. _________________

It didn't help that our team's leading tackler was also our starting center _________________

I have to disagree with this 100 percent. The only thing Ringer has on CJ in a passing formation is blocking, and he's not that much better of a blocker. CJ will be a much more explosive runner in a four wide look single back formation. He will be a threat on the outside when they motion him out of the backfield and create mismatches. _________________

You disagree 100% except for the 50% you agree with? Ringer is a better blocker, and that's huge.
I don't understand the comment about explosiveness from a four wide set. We're talking about pass plays, not run plays. I think everyone accepts that CJ is more explosive than Ringer. On pass plays, his explosion is useless for blocking and only relevant when he's able to catch a pass, which doesn't happen often enough. Frankly last year he was straight lazy on pass plays. Gator arms, stupid one-handed attempts, and really weak blocking. The worst thing he does is stand still with his back to the defense, waiting for a check down. I'd love to know if he's been coached to do that or if it's something he does on his own.
As for CJ on the outside, if the pass protection is good enough to leave the backfield empty on a regular basis when passing that will be great. If not, they'll need a RB who can block. How many times did he line up at WR last year? Who knows how to get that stat? |
