| The Ravens will definitely draft a Center and Safety in this draft. You have none for those positions. I also dont see a kick or punt returner. |

That's DeQaun Menzie in the 7th. It's arguable if he would fall that far however. As a slow corner, I think it's conceivable, but the consensus tends to disagree with that assessment- not that I always think the "consensus" knows what the heck it's talking about.
--------------------------
While I'm a fan of Upshaw, I don't think he's a major upgrade over what we currently have at the position with Kruger/Kindle.. I'd rather use this year to roll the dice with that position to see what we have and there are more impactful/similar talent/potential players that should be available and I think their value makes greater sense for us in the 1st.
Brandon Brooks makes sense here in the 2nd for your mock as clearly we would have to pass up on Mychal Kendricks because we'd just gone Upshaw in the 1st and it'd be incredibly difficult to go LB-LB back to back. Brooks is good value there.
I've been lazy regarding AJ Jenkins, I've seen his name and that he's a potential candidate to watch out for in the midrounds... but I haven't watched any tape... so I can't comment (and yes, I know you've linked to something on youtube, just haven't watched it yet- like I said, lazy).
I'm not the biggest Turbin to the Ravens guy, I think what we need in a runner is someone that can back up Rice and his impact. As it stands I think no power runner is going to provide much better impact than what Anthony Allen could do and even if they could I still wouldn't feel safe if Rice going down and relying on two power backs to get the job done. I think the best insurance as our 2nd/3rd back should be a guy to compliment Allen in case Rice goes down. Rice has enough power to do the goal line running if Allen doesn't win the 2nd RB job.
Adcock in the 5th is interesting. Could perhaps be better value on the board. I'm probably not a fan of the pick ultimately however because he's a guy that I view as a OG at the next level. With your selection of Brandon Brooks, I'd rather get a guard/center swingman like Gino later in the draft.
I'd prefer it if our 5th round comp wasn't the first time we looked towards ILB in the draft. Tbh we could probably still find a quality RB later on in the draft, while in the 4th a guy like Audie Cole should be available and he could potentially be a fit for what we need in a LBer.
Guyton's a late round guy who I haven't watched the tape on, only heard the name. So I'm not qualified to comment on.
Menzie I like. I don't like him at corner however. Only as a special teammer. Not sure he has the athleticism I'd want with a guy matching up on receivers. I'm thinking a move to FS or SS at the next level probably makes more sense and then utilize his special teams value.
Overall a pretty decent mock. _________________

I saw Illinois play a couple of times last year, and Jenkins is fast.
That said, he doesn't always run crips routes, waits on the ball rather than going and getting it, and I'm not sure he has enough weight to take a shot from an NFL safety.
His hands seem ok, but I haven't ever really seen him catch a contested pass, so I'm not willing to say they're anything more than average.
The 3rd-4th round is probably about right for him, but he's probably more of a slot guy and he's going to need some time to get up to speed so I'm not sure he'd have much impact until his 2nd year in the league.
If we're looking for a WR that can play early in this area of the draft, it would probably be better to draft TY Hilton or Joe Adams--at least they can return kicks/punts while they learn the nuances of being an NFL WR. |

| I would be alright with that draft. Upshaw would fit well in the Ravens scheme and if he's on the board when the Ravens pick there won't be many other guys that would be considered better values. I'm not sure how well Brooks will fit in the Ravens zone-blocking system. Jenkins would be a fine pick in the third round. The same goes for Turbin in the fourth round. Not really excited about Adcock with Brooks already being taken. He's not a NFL LT in my opinion and RT isn't a need at all. Seems a bit high for a backup RG too. I don't think Gallippo is worth a fifth round pick. Getting Guyton that late doesn't seem very likely. Menzie is alright in the 7th, even though he can be a returner I think taking another CB is a waste. |

I would ok with that draft but wouldn't mind us taken a safety like Aaron Henry and a RS like Joe Adams, Chris Rainey or M Maze in the later rounds. Also we should try to , if possible , get Audie Cole who is projected in most mocks to be available in the early 5th round. _________________ BALL SO HARD UNIVERSITY!!!!! |
