Im not defending his tape, Im defending his abilities. Its just like Jerel Worthy. Theres a lot of games where you have to wash it because of his Ohio St. game. That game he was completely dominant. If he can repeat that game hes going to be an All-Pro. Just like Poe, if you watched his ECU and SMU games you will come away impressed. |
I did. I wasn't.

He took on double-teams more than any prospect Ive watched this year. He also was completely playing out of position at times. Memphis asked him to do more, with less, than any DT prospect in this draft. |
I have to question how much you actually watched him play? Did you just look at Youtube highlights that are mainly from the 2 games you keep talking about?
Poe drew single man blocking far more often than a player his size should have. He was routinely blocked one on one. He doesn't get off the ball suddenly. It allowed blockers to set and absorb him which is why you see him get washed out of a lot of plays.
When double teamed, he lacked the ability to break it. He's not adept at pushing pocket, doesn't use his hands well at all and easily redirected inside.
He played Conference USA and didn't stand out statistically.
Now, I do agree he has the ability to be great with a lot of coaching and technique training. But to take him round 1 and expect him to have any impact early on, it won't happen. |
EXACTLY! You just read the stats page and assume he did nothing.
I will bet my entire life you didnt watch him play those games, you freaking liar. I guarantee you wouldnt even be able to tell me what station they played on those games too?
Im done debating you. You clearly dont want to hear from someone whose really seen the tape. You can use google search all you want pal. Ill watch the games and tell you what actually happened. _________________

So your just going to now attempt to tell me I didn't watch him play? You didn't have an argument, so you got upset and started playing the 'I'm done' and you're a liar' card. Awesome.
Watched him play plenty. Memphis games are televised in Atlanta regularly. As I said, I was touting Poe last season and expected him to really show out in 2011. Didn't see it. I even attended a Memphis game in Orlando last season. But I won't comment on the performance, because I was just there having fun. So don't go running your mouth because you have no argument.
So yeah, I guarantee YOU haven't seen the tape. You get a lot of Memphis Tigers games up in Jersey? And what tape are YOU seeing that nobody else seems to agree on?
Bottom line, you are not telling me ish. Post up this awesome tape you have on him up. Sure the scouts would like to see it as well. It's pretty easy to find video of him looking average. _________________

I think he would be some1 we should go hard after even if the vikings dnt wanna give him up try and give them a offer they cant refuse for example a 2nd and a 2013 compensation pick maybe add a player in aswell moreno or haggan just a thought |
It's not worth it. We'd be better off drafting a DT with that pick and grooming him ourselves. |
if our team was rebuildin it wudnt b bt wea almost at a win now situation and williams is 1 of if not the best 43 run stoppper in the league _________________

I've seen Poe play two games last year and my assessment on him was the same as you BP. Not sure if I caught him on two bad days, but still I wasn't impressed with him on film. I do like his potential, but I wouldn't touch him unless it's the last 10 picks or so in the first round. I don't get how he can be a potential top 10 pick. He hasn't show much in film against lesser opponents (CUSA). He should've dominated his competition if he's as good as he's being hyped out to be.

You watch every Raiders game, every Broncos game, and every NFL game every single time its on. And now you watch every Alabama game, you have season tickets to every college around the country and on your free time you watch Memphis and see them play.
Gimme a break. Im done. You have completely lost everything in my book. Youre ignorance and arrogance in this debate has completely shown how little you know. You lack so much class my man. _________________
