Peter King's mock
| Quote: | 15 EAGLES
WILL PICK Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina
SHOULD PICK Courtney Upshaw, DE/OLB, Alabama
One coach used these words to me about Coples: "Gifted. Sporadic." We're getting to the part of the draft—mid first round—where beauty's in the eye of the beholder, and teams reach for pass rushers who often don't pan out. Philly D-line coach Jim Washburn is as demanding as they come, and Coples will have a chance to make the Eagles more formidable up front. |

I'd rather have Chandler Jones over either. His talent and upside is ridiculous. _________________

it'd be cool to see Bones @ Philly games. Knee injuries scare me though. Never quite the same after the knife. _________________

He had 5 sacks last year, which is okay but nothing special. You have to understand that Cox is just scratching the surface. He was moved all over the place at Miss State. He wasn’t getting great coaching. Cox would be the under tackle here. Washburn would teach him everything in the world about rushing the passer. Cox has tremendous natural gifts. He could develop into a difference maker up front. No guarantees, of course, but the potential is there. I don’t sell the farm to get him, but yeah…he is worth moving up for if the price is right. |

I don't like Coples, but Coples > Upshaw for the wide 9 and 4-3 everyday. _________________

The athletic ability in that family is crazy. Arthur is in the NFL, Jon is the UFC LHW champ, and Chandler is a likely 1st or 2nd round pick.
Chandler is long and lean type prospect like JPP, and while he didn't run as fast as JPP did (4.71 to 4.87) but had a higher vert (35" to 30 1/2") a better broad jump (10' to 9' 7") More bench reps (22 to 19) better 10 yard split (1.63 to 1.65) better 3 cone (7.07 to 7.1 better 20 yard shuttle (4.38 to 4.67) and longer arms (35 1/2" to 34 3/4") and he uses his hands well from almost everything I've read on him, a lot of the issues with him are his lack of secondary pass rush moves and playing too high, which can be fixed. He's strong against the run, and his pass rushing improved last season. He's a guy that could be a beast. _________________
