I would be estatic if we got him at 16. |
I would be too, hes been on top of my board for a while now. I'm sure we would have to trade up for him. I just hope we don't have to give up what the Falcons gave up to get Julio Jones. |
I think we'd have to move up to the top 10 for Floyd (no way he gets past Buffalo at 10) and we'd probably have to give up way too much to get him. If he fell to 16 he's a no brainer, but as deep as this receiver class is we'd be better of staying put at 16 and taking Mark Barron or the best available pass rusher and taking a receiver later in the draft. |
If a lot of our top targets are gone, we could take Kendall Wright. _________________

That would be a huge reach at 16 IMO. I like Kendall Wright, but more as an early 2nd round pick. He was helped a lot by RG3 this season and compiled a lot of his numbers against less than stellar secondaries, coupled with his measurables I'd like to avoid him in round 1. _________________

I really like Wright, I think hs going to become a great WR if he lands on the right team. But if we were to get him, I would like to bring in Edwards so Wright can start off in the slot.
But as far as Floyd, I wouldn't mind trading up for him if we just use our 16th & 2013 picks. I don't want to trade away to many picks from this years draft. There is really nothing I don't like about Floyd. Hes a great run blocker, Can catch the ball any where in the area code, Redzone target. Dude is a playmaker.
I really want a game changer on offense. Someone who can make a big play in any given moment on offense. If we can't get one from WR, I would like to see us go after a RB who can make a big play from screens or dump passes. _________________

Great ST, hits like a hammer, can play DE, OLB, maybe ILB. I like his versatility even if he won't be a stud pass rusher. _________________

Seems like a good player but would you be happy to get him at 47 jetsfan? How does his game compare to the likes of Jones and Curry who are projected to go at the same round?? |

I've never liked Vinny Curry and Jones measureables compare almost spot on to Aldon Smith that's why I'd rather get him in the 2nd and gamble there instead of gambling in the first.
Curry probably has the most upside, Jones could end up being the worst, and I think Lewis will always be a solid player. He could be like Upshaw(taking over Pace's role) plus having the ST value. Just Upshaw is elite at run defense/setting the edge. _________________

I like Chandler Jones in the long-term, but he's too much of a project for my taste. _________________

Lets say we don't go WR in the first round. Which WR would you rather have in the 2nd?
Rueben Randle Vs. Alshon Jeffery _________________

They both are pretty good wide recievers but the thing that strikes me is that randle is only 20 compared to jeffery who is 22. Not that it makes a huge difference but i like players that have proved themselves over time through college rather than someone who has a good season and leaves. I like Jeffery also because hes definetly a half an inch taller and about 15 to 20 pounds heavier. seems like he would be a guy that could block pretty well. _________________

Jeffery by a mile. I always thought Randle was a little soft, granted the numbers he put up with average to bad quarterback play was impressive.
But Jeffery can play anywhere on the field and looks like he might be a little bit like Vincent Jackson. Attacks the ball at it's highest point, great sideline balance, and very good route runner.
If he stays in shape he's going to be a pretty damn good wide receiver in the NFL. _________________

Maybe it's just me but I don't recall there being so many player visits and names attached to the Jets the past few years. It seems like every day there's ten more players the Jets are bringing in or going to see. _________________

Was thinking the same, but I don't think anyone was posting on twitter last year like Steiny. _________________

Right now my ideal mock positionally would be
1. OLB
2. WR
3. S
5. RB/WR
6. LB
6. RB/WR
6. DL/OL
7. TE
7. K/P
7. DB
Sanchez needs weapons, the defense would be SO much better with pass rushers. Kind of pointless taking late round OL when we have a few late guys like Schlad and Austin Howard. This team lacks speed and explosion. Can't think of any fast guys on the team except our CBs. With Mauga being solid and Scott being lighter(very underrated move) I think ILB might go ignored until late. So RT and ILB after the draft will probably be the biggest weaknesses. OLB, WR and S are musts! _________________

I dunno, I think Randle can surprise a lot of people at the next level. He was obviously underutilized on a LSU team that loved to run. He has the size and speed to make it, if he can improve on route running I can see him making it big.
However, I've said before for some reason I can just see Jeffrey fitting well on this team and being a good wide out for Sanchez to throw to. _________________
