| Quote: | This is a good 'get' by Rich Campbell of the Washington Times:
Garcon averaged 5.2 yards after the catch last season, 22nd among the the 85 receivers with at least 30 receptions. He's expected to start at 'X' receiver (split end), while Morgan will compete with Hankerson for the starting 'Z' (flanker) spot.
"Josh Morgan is a complete football player," Shanahan continued. "He can block. He can run. He can catch. He’s one of the most underrated guys that I thought was out there when I talk about a complete football player." |

This IMO will be a nice battle to see and this will only make them both better at there Positions. Josh Morgan actually graduated from the same school as me (Howard D Woodson aka The Tower of Power) never got to see him play but from everything I'm hearing about him since he's joined us I'm pretty excited to see watch him on the field. Hankerson was becoming more and more productive during last season b4 the injury and if healthy I see him becoming a huge asset to this team. Can't wait to watch this all unfold with the addition of RG3 or Luck!!!!!!!!! _________________

Great reading material. Lots to digest there. I agree with the logic of the writer in context with Shanahan's comments. Three points I'd like to make is:
1) Shanahan never gives out information, so he could just be misleading the media yet again.
2) Injuries are a concern. We are not sure if Hankerson will be 100% ready and could end up on the PUP list. We also don't know if any new WR injuries will pop up.
3) The new QB needs to be taken into consideration. If he has a good rapport with Moss and Gaffney, but not WR X, maybe WR X should be traded.
I wouldn't be so quick to cut either Moss or Gaffney until the end of preseason, because one of them could be needed or the better player through competition. |

Morgan for the present, Hank for the future. Hank won't be 100% at the begining of the year. _________________

I like how they said whoever wins the competition isn't going to get significantly more playing time than the other.
Keep a stable of WR's and keep rotating some fresh legs out there for RG3 to throw to and wear those CB's out! _________________

That reminds me of Green Bay. There isn't any Hall of Fame WRs on that team, but they have a very good stable. Any one of them can be the hero of any one of their games. It's also helpful that if one of them gets hurt, then there won't be that much of a drop off with his replacement. I like that approach. I just hope that they all gel together, along with the new QB, and get the offense down. |

If given the opportunity, Shanahan might just "stash" Hankerson in the PUP list for six weeks, then decide who they need to get rid of to bring Hankerson back. |

There would be 0 reason to do that if Hank's fully healthy. _________________ RIP SuperSkinFan

Who knows or sure, it's always enigma with injuries and the redskins. I really can't believe what thy say. I'm with mid, I think he'll start the season on the pup list and he'll play the last 10 games. _________________

He wouldn't be allowed on the PUP list if he is fully healthy.
What if he's not healthy? You get rid of one of your veterans prematurely then it is found that Hankerson isn't as healthy as hoped and he starts missing a lot of time in camp? There is no guarantee that any player will be 100% healthy. If Hankerson is not ready to go, it would be much safer to PUP him than risk further injury by making him take the field when he's not ready. |

So, basically, Morgan is Niles Paul?
I still don't see any point to this signing.
The goal should be to get Hankerson in to Gaffney's spot. Hankerson is a natural possession type receiver. |

Hanks gonna be alright. I know how aerious that injury is but this duse is young and he is a serious worker! Its alot different for a 21 year old then it is for a 28 year old ( Brown). Also in a scence that injury has more of a effect on your lateral movement which is a key for a OT. A WR needs to have lateral movement but its not the most important thing _________________
