Another year, another Madden. Unfortunately, Aaron beat out Joe Haden by an overwhelming majority. We must ensure his loss. Its round two, so let's gather everyone up and vote for Marshawn.

Don't know man, kinda torn here. Of course I don't want Rodgers to win. However, I don't want Megatron to win either. If the fabled Madden curse is true, and although he's a lion, this would spell doom for my fantasy stud. (Dynasty League)

The injury/performance decline rate is not even a deviation away from expectation for NFL superstars.

If you just took the biggest jersey seller on every team you'd decide most of them are cursed.

You could create an NFL MVP curse, as one man did, and find out that it was more significant than the madden curse.

FACT: a starting RB has less than a 50% chance to start all 16 games.

I don't really believe in the Madden curse, but "being denied the Madden Cover" is the sort of thing that motivates Aaron Rodgers, so I'm happy to oblige by voting for Joe Haden and Marshawn Lynch.

I voted for all division rivals. In the case where there wasn't one, I just voted for whoever I thought would make a more embarrassing cover.

This is how all true fans of football should vote. I can't believe both Lechler and Janikowski are done.

The way I see it, Rodgers wants to be on the cover. I don't believe in curses because I'm not an idiot (well, i believe in Gypsy curses. that's a whole different animal).

If my favorite player wants to be on the cover of a video game, and I had a vote to get him on there, I would use that to the best of my ability.. Anyone who doesn't vote for Aaron is a bad fan.

Honestly, I'm much more interested in "sticking it to EA" by putting someone hilarious on the cover than in giving an athlete I cheer for the dubious honor of being on the Madden cover.

When has Aaron every said he wants to be on the cover?

Last year. He said he grew up playing the games and would love to be on the cover.

And Scuba, here's a brief history of the madden curse (effected by curse in bold):

Garrison Hurst essentially ended his career with an injury when he was the first cover athlete
Sanders retired
Eddie George had a great season.
Culpepper was fine but played like Culpepper.
Faulk was fine, got older and slowly declined the rest of his career.
Vick broke the leg.
Ray Lewis got hurt at the end of the season.
McNabb tore his ACL
Alexander was mostly fine but missed a couple of games.
Favre unretired.
Fitzgerald had a career year. Polomalu missed most of the season with injury.
Drew Brees was fine.
Peyton Hillis was a wuss and a crybaby, refusing to play because of a contract squabble (and pretended to be ill or injured).

So a running back, two scrambling QBs, and an oft-injured safety are all you have to put your hat on for a curse. If you count Hillis, that's two running backs, the most commonly injured position on the field.

and Possible Cabbage, I try the same thing, but we've clean run out of absurd players to vote for. Janikowski would have had my vote until the end, but he's gone. There simply won't be a Peyton Hillis this season.

I wouldn't mind seeing Patrick Willis on the cover, he's a damn fine player (unlike Hillis) but he's probably someone that the casual fan has no earthly idea who he is since the 49ers were invisible until last year and he plays an unglamorous position (i.e. he doesn't score touchdowns, ESPN doesn't talk about him all the time.)
