| Did a team lose a 6th round pick somewhere. The Colts have the last pick in the 5th round #170 and the Jets have the first comp. pick in the 6th #202. Their is only 31 picks between the Colts comp. pick and the Jets comp. pick. Is their just an error or did someone lose a pick in the 6th. |

Good news for the Raiders. Has there ever been a team awarded more compensatory picks than they have actual draft picks?
Of course these can't be traded, but it will give the Raiders a shot at landing some much needed depth and w/ any luck a starter w/ 95.

If anybody feels like explaining to me the rationale behind the NFL's decision to make comp picks un-tradeable I would appreciate it.
Why reward a team and then restrict their ability to make the most of it?

yea and i love that that article laughs and says who are we kidding the lions wont make the playoffs and then they do. That was such a garbage punishment but thats ok i think Scott Pioli learned his lesson Week 2 last year.. 48-3

So how do these comp picks work exactly? Does this mean the Raiders got the 95th pick from the Eagles for signing Nnamdi?

No. It's an extra pick awarded by the League. Though everybody gets seven picks, there are actually eight rounds worth of picks due to the compensatory picks handed out.
