This website tries to predict compensatory picks. They figured in our FA losses last year (Clint Sessions, Charlie Johnson and Bob Sanders) and FA additions (Kerry Collins) and came to the conclusion that we'd get a 4th and 6th rounder and an additional 7th. Compensatory picks in the draft must add up to 32 additional picks so when they need to add extra picks they select the top of the order to fill it out.

With the addition of Samson Satele. I think that our starting OL is set depending on whether those players can hold onto their jobs

Castonzo, McGlynn, Satele, Ijalana, Justice

We still need a QB (wink, wink), TE, NT and CB

I'd be shocked if we don't attempt to bring back Tamme or Clark to help out Luck....

Either that or they are planning on taking Fleener with pick 34.

Fleener would be the best move IMO. We could only benefit from the relationship and comfort level already established between Luck and Fleener.

He didn't play until the Saints game and ended up starting that one and the next 4 games before getting benched.

He missed all of 2010 because of a knee injury.

In other words, basically another wasted third rounder.

Ya that was a terrible pick considering Thomas was basically hurt his first 3 years at USC and even when he was healthy, he wasn't great at USC. He may have graded out at a 4th rounder on talent, the injury history should have pushed his value down too.

It was even worse when you look at who was drafted right after him. Jimmy Graham, Aaron Hernandez, Everson Griffin, Mike Williams, and Joe Hawley....

Damn our drafting has sucked overall in recent years...

Looking at our recieving corps we better be planning on drafting a wide reciever in this draft. Wayne's a good #1 but, with all due respect to Austin Collie, we need a stronger #2 for Luck to throw to.

As for our record I see us going 3 and 13.

I dont understand why everyone thinks our cb's.are horrible, thomas, rucker & johnson were all rookies last year and we have no idea what they will look like with new scheme... Definately need another onebut I dontknow about2!

I don't think they are horrible, but I don't trust them enough to count on them based on what I've seen. And Thomas might not have played at all in 2010 but he definitely had time to study the playbook.

NFL Owners Meetings begin tomorrow and it is widely believed that the Compensatory Picks for the draft should be announced either Monday or Tuesday so the actual pick numbers for rounds 4-7 (pending how many 3rd round comp picks there are, I've seen 3 suggested) will be set in stone.
