So THAT'S why we got rid of Osgood. Good to know.
What if we sign Mario Williams But he insists on wearing #11? we'll be screwed!

We need to pray to god he doesnt like number 32

Because MJD would headbutt Mario in the belly over 32...

MJD doesnt need a concussion

If Mario wanted 32, Id hope Gene would cut him on ths spot, MJD is what keeps us going & tickets selling.

Cut who? Cut Mario? That would be smart, give him 50M guaranteed then cut him

Mario couldn't wear 32 no matter how badly he wanted the jersey number.

Couple things...

How did the conversation degrade to this?

Positions have set numbers that they are allowed to use. So those numbers wouldn't be something that Mario would want.

Players can choose to wear a number outside of the allowed numbers, but they would be fined every game. This is how Keyshawn Johnson first started wearing 19. Not something that most players would want to deal with weekly.

Well I bet Mario could afford it if he signed a $100M deal

bleh...wr just passed de & cb as #1 priority in the draft. guess it's a lock we take the 2nd best wr in the draft at #7...just feels like we're settling here. the redskins really screwed us by overpaying for garcon. maybe we'll get lucky & hill or jeffrey will have a so-so proday and fall to us in the 2nd.

I like Garcon, but I don't see how us landing him as opposed to Robinson would have changed that much. I said before that I don't see Garcon as a protoypical #1 option. A good second for sure. But I could see Robinson filling that role as well. Garcon or Robinson - with either one, the team could still use another pass catcher.

The truth is, other than VJax, there was no prototypical #1 guy that hit the market. It would have been overly optimistic to expect to land the only player out there who could have fit that need.

WR didnt pass anything. That was always our biggest need

no argument about need, but I said "priority", not need. I tend to wait until we get through the initial free agency period before solidifying my opinion about draft priorities. given our draft position and the likliehood that we adressed wr need through free agency, I had de & cb as higher draft priorities. if robinson is the only free agent wr we sign, wr becomes the highest draft priority imo.

I still think it was our #1 priority. Obviously re-signing Mincey and Lowery were priorities because they were key to our defense last year, but in order to help Gabbert, our offense needs to get better ergo, WR is the #1 priority. Even if we didnt re-sign Mathis, I think WR was a bigger priority than CB.

I'm not supposed to link, but Grantland.com has a very convincing piece on why this is an embarrassingly bad deal for the Jaguars.

Mercedes Lewis all over again.

Where did everyone get this information that you aren't supposed to link to articles?
