Schedule is on there.

RF: Wilkin Ramirez

Top-10 prospects:
1. 3B/SS Miguel Sano: Possibly one of our few prospects with a serious shot at elite status. Absolutely kicked butt at the plate last year which included 45 XBH and a .988 OPS. His two biggest questions are contact and defense. I feel the contact issue will and can be fixed as he matures. Defense? No clue. Will be heading to 3B this season I suspect. Amazing prospect non the less.
2. OF Oswaldo Arcia: I like this kid, maybe more than some others, but I think he has pretty good upside. He struggled last year between Rookie, A and high A ball. The power upside on him is good, as is the fielding and the contact is also apparent. His biggest issue in the past has been taking walks, and was once again. He still had 24 XBH in 227 PA's in high A, but hopefully we see some improvement.
3. OF Eddie Rosario: Was Sano's partner in crime in Rookie ball. Had 39 XBH and a 1.068 OPS. Had a 60 K to 27 BB ratio(which isn't bad) and was a good fielder. Showed a good number of tools last year, hopefully it continues to grow this season.
4. RHP Liam Hendriks: Our pitching depth in the minors is horrendous . I love this Aussie though. Good RHP pitcher who should be a #3 in the rotation. Is a control guy who is primarily a ground ball specialist. In AA last season, had a BB/9 of 1.8 and a K/9 of 8.1. He doesn't give up a lot of homers.
5. OF Joe Benson: Decent potential to be a corner OF guy. Flashes good power and decent base stealing abilities. In AA, had a good OBP too.
6. OF Aaron Hicks: You know that one guy in high school you thought once would end up a rocket scientist, but ended up working in a retail store for the rest of his life? This is Aaron Hicks. Has to many tools you want in a young CF, but has yet to put it together. Another start of the season, another year of hoping Hicks puts it together. Here's hoping.
7. SS Levi Michael: Our 1st round draft pick last year. Hasn't made his pro debut, but pre-draft looked to be an every day SS who slots in top of the order and can get on base regularly.
8. RHP Hudson Boyd: This guy is a wildcard for us. Pre-draft had this guy having 3 pitch arsenal, good mechanics and some nice heat (and for a Twins prospect, anything over 92 MPH is considered heat). The only thing holding him back from being a starting pitching prospect is his lack stamina. If he can have that, we have a dark horse top of the rotation potential starter. If not, he'll be relegated to relief pitching.
9. 3B Travis Harrison: Again no pro data, but pre-draft said that he had a ton of power in his bat. Questions about consistent contact and defense capabilities.
10. SS Brian Dozier: I had to put him on here. He's an older prospect, at 24. But has good/average tools all around. Nothing above average or below average, just solid, all around tools.
So questions going into the 2012 season for the Minneosta Twins:
1. List 3 things you are hopeful of happening this season?
2. Name 1 breakout player this season?
3. Name 1 player who struggles this season?
4. What would you consider a successful season?
5. Who do you want us to pick in the MLB draft?
6. Which prospect will you be keeping your eye on this year?
7. What do you consider the strongest part of our team is and why?
8. What do you consider is the weakest part of our team and why?
9. Will Matt Capps blow less than 15 saves?
10. Will Terry Ryan stay as GM by the end of the year? _________________

Whats the status on Kyle Gibson? His first year he was ripping it up, last year dropped off and had Tommy John Surgery. He was my favorite prospect. Youre right, its our pitching in the minors that needs major help.
Alex Wimmers has been a dissapointment so far.
I want us to take Appel. I am sure he is the consensus number 1 though. So doubtful. Whoever we take, it has to be a starting pitcher with top of the rotation ability. _________________

Jeez nobody must not be too excited for the season. I am a bit because regardless I still like watching the Twins, but this is the worst team weve had in a while. Bill Smith made so many stupid decisions its crazy. _________________

Sorry about the late reply.
Kyle Gibson will probably be pretty much sitting around and healing for a year. If I'm not mistaken, TJ surgery takes a year to heal.
Wimmers pitched quite well for something around 25-30 innings.
We definitely need Appel though, but he'll most likely go 1st. After him, the other guy projected that could be an option, is a high school pitcher called Lucas Giolito. He has a 96 MPH FB, a 12-6 curve and people say he needs some work on his control. Unfortunately he has a UCLA commitment which means he'll be a tough sign.
If not a pitcher, we'll need to look at a SS. _________________

Haha no big deal on the late reply!
That sucks so much about Gibson. I was hoping his injury was early last season and that he could pitch sometime this season. I had such high hopes for him. I wanted to see him in a Twins uni early on but this has hampered that.
Yeah we probably wont get Appel. I like the thought of a pitcher who can throw 96 in our organization but it sucks, it would take him longer to get to the majors and we need all these guys soon. He would also have to commit to signing. We cannot screw this pick up or we are definitely screwed.
Yeah a nice young power hitting shortstop would be nice!
Hopefully this year this team can exceed my expectations. _________________

I honestly think that our lineup has potential to put up runs. It hurts that basically the whole lineup is so young.
The pitching rotation however..I dont think they will be all that great. Liriano needs to have a year like the year before last. Baker needs to return to form. Hopefully Marquis can come in and do alright. Duensing needs to have a year like the one before last, so does Pavano. Like you said, so many questions. _________________

Hopefully Franky plays well early so we can trade him for some other talent. I don't think we are going to make the playoffs this year, but I don't see us losing 99 games again either _________________ 2013 Adopt a Minnesota Viking - Xavier Rhodes - CB - #29

Did you guys hear about Joel Zumaya? Tore his UCL ligament in his arm after a 15 minute throwing session. Expected to miss the season. I loved the signing at first, but this guy cannot stay healthy. His arm is shot. _________________

I will remember his 6th pitch fondly.
Lets be honest, the fact that the Twins were banking on him for the whole season was a bad idea. Taking a flyer wasn't bad, but pencilling him into the bullpen was.
More worrying to me is these set of Morneau quotes:
- “There comes a point when you can only torture yourself so long.”
- “I don’t know if I can be a full, 100 percent go, but I’m going to go out there and participate in everything and take it day by day.”
It seems as if he isn't past his PCS yet, and that's worrying. I wonder how long till he wants to push. It affects a few parts of his game a lot. We may be looking at the retirement of our beloved 1B and end of out M&M partnership. _________________

I believe this is an 80 win team. I'm so glad Terry Ryan is in charge again.
My biggest gripe is that this organization seems to actively avoid pitchers with velocity in favor of those that have good control. I long for the days of Santana. if they had one guy that could hit 96 consistently it would be such a change of pace.
If there is one thing that I would like to see this year it would be Justin Morneau returning to form. He was my favorite Twin and was having another MVP type season before his injury. A healthy Span, Carroll, Mauer, Morneau top of the order for an entire season would be something to build on for next season.
My prediction for the Central:
Detroit
KC
Cleveland
Minnesota
Chicago _________________
