Trade Scenario :
Kansas City trades their fifth round pick (#162), their sixth round pick (#199) and their seventh round pick (#229) to Indianapolis in exchange for their fourth round pick (#129).
Kansas City total draft board value : 59.8
Indianapolis total draft board value : 49
Do you think Polian would be interested in this trade proposal from the Chiefs? You are getting several second day picks that can be used to add depth to the roster. Just curious if you think this trade is one that the Colts might be interested in. Let me know your thoughts |

| The Colts don't need depth... they need quality! It's quality and not quantity, and obviously, the Colts defense lacks quality (except for Freeny) |

Colts absolutely need depth. The way the game is played in the NFL today is to be constantly drafting players who grow into starters because witht he cap the way it is, every year or two you will have to make tough decisions on your own starters. The Colts emphasize resigning your own as much as anyone but they still let Marcus Pollard, a long time well liked player go because they had drafted depth at TE along the way. They let Marcus Washington go last year without having anyone to replace him competently. I hope we arent in the same boat with Morris this year. I never liked Morris from the beginning but you have to have a replacement before you yell off with their head. I am not one of those who believe that ANYONE can play better than Morris. We let Steve McKinney go a few years ago and seem to let a starting offensive lineman go every year because Mudd and Polian always seem to have a reserve ready to step in. This is the way they handle the cap and it makes the middle and late rounds of the draft invaluable to this team.
Granted to win a Super Bowl they need to find a couple of star defenders, but dont overlook the value of all that depth and the cheap finds that Polian seems to always be bringing in. |

| Wish we made the trade for your first round pick and got derrick johnson. He fell a few spots to the 15 slot. |
