Imagine this as the opening day defense:
DE - Justin Smith
DT - John Thorton
DT - Bryan Robinson
DE - Duane Clemons
OLB - Brian Simmons
MLB - Channing Crowder
OLB - Landon Johnson
CB - Tory James
CB - Deltha O'neal
FS - Madieu Williams
SS - Ernest Shazor
Rotating in - Mathias Askew, Keiwan Ratliff, Kevin Kaesvaharn, Kevin Hardy, Robert Geathers
That would make me very happy with those changes to the defense. Channing Crowder in round one, Shazor in 2, and start Landon over Kevin Hardy, bringing in Hardy as a situational rusher. _________________

I think that D is fine given the other offenses that are in the AFC North but there is something that itches at me about Clemons. Don't get me wrong, I respect him, but look what happens when you have two pass rushing ends (especially given the 5 yard contact rule that puts more emphasis on the rush). I wish we had a better book end for Smith. Not to mention MLB. _________________

GREAT PICK up with Crowder and Shazor! Kevin Hardy is to good and worth to much $$$$ to be rotating in the game.Ratliff, Askew, and Geathers are great Athletes and might find themselves in a big role in the dime or quarter packages. _________________ Who Dey? |

Just my thoughts (for now):
D-Line: Smith, Thornton, Robinson, Geathers
Rotating in: Clemons (for pass rushing. He could start over Geathers, though), Askew, Moore, and Powell
LBs: Hardy, L. Johnson, Simmons
Rotating in: Miller and Webster
DBs: O'Neal, James, M. Williams, and Thomas Davis
Passing Downs: Ratliff and Bauman
Other possible starter: Kim Herring
I'd like to see them either draft Davis or Heath Miller, or trade down to get Pollack. Then take a center and receiver/kick returner in rounds 2/3. _________________
