I really think the Bengals need a DE because Powell is aging and seems that it is one of their bigger needs.

Shawne Merriman-6'4 272 MD-A great pass rusher who looks to be the 1st DE taken because of his strength(26 reps, )size and 4.74 speed and ability to play 34 OLB. His senior season he had 85 tackles, 8.5 sacks, 17 tackles for losses and 10 pressures.

Marcus Spears-6'4 307 LSU-A big athletic DE that can play DT. Origanlly was a TE wo converted to DE. He has 4.99 speed and benches 405 lbs. His senior season he had 49 tackles, 9 sacks and 17 tackles behind the line.

Erasmus James-6'4 267 Wis-He came back from a major injury to have a great season. Many consider him to be the best pure pass rusher in the draft. He ran a 4.79 in the 40 and beches 325 lbs. His senior seson he had 36 tackles and 8 sacks.

Demarcus Ware-6'4 251 Troy-He has been climbing up draft boards because of his 4.55 speed and he benches 420 lbs. He is also considered to be a good 34 OLB. In his senior season he had 62 tackles, 6 sacks, 16 tackles for a loss and an awesome 32 pressures.

David Pollack-6'2 265 UGA-There is speculation that he is too short to play DE but was considered to be the best DE in the draft by many. He ran 4.8s in the 40, benches 425 lbs and is a great leader. His senior season he had 12.5 sacks 17 tackles for aloss and an amazing 32 hurries. But in his Soph. season he had 102 tackles and 14 sacks.

Matt Roth-6'3 278 Iowa-This kid is a wild fighter. He will fight his way to the QB with his 4.77 speed and benches 410 lbs. His sneior season he had 49 tackles and 8 sacks.

Dan Cody-6'5 264 Okl-He has 4.8 speed and benches 365 lbs. Many scouts are a lttle afraid of drafting him due to his depression that caused him to miss a game. Last season he had 42 tackles and 12 sacks.

Justin Tuck-6'5 268 ND-He ran his 40 time between 4.6 and 4.7 along with benching 380 lbs. He is a tweener type that is a great pass rusher that bull rushes his way to the QB. After getting duble teamed all year in his senior season he still manged to get 47 tackles 6 sacks and 14 tackles for losses.

I go with Pollack because Merriman doesn't seem as good as I think he is made out to be. I saw film of him playing against Virginia, and I watched Heath Miller on his own on the goalline put him squarely on his [inappropriate/removed] with one shove. He is good no doubt, but I don't think I've ever seen tape of Pollack getting pushed around by any player let alone a TE. I don't think any of these picks really matter, because the whole complection of the draft will change when Philly trades up with us to get a top notch receiver and we pick up a a second rounder in return.

I think Ware should be taken off that list as a DE because he will likely play OLB in a 3-4 defense.

Have you heard of Dwight Freeney or Jevon Kearse ormaybe even Robert Mathis? All projected to be 34 OLBs that all play 43 DE. Ware is a tweener it just depends on what team drafts him.

Pollack all the way. He'd look great in Orange and Black.

I really like the Merriman kid. But I highly doubt he's going to be there when we draft.
