God this guy should be a politician. I know he doesn't want to tip his hand but he said he has five or six guys in mind for the 17th pick but successfully avoiding telling who they might be. Also, he said QB and RB are the only spots he would not draft in the 1st (not shocking). The wait is killing me. Check out the conference at bengals.com, if you haven't already. _________________

I think there are a few hints you can glean from it, though.
1. He wants to take a player that will improve the position and not be a backup. To me, this sounds like OT is out (some mocks have us taking Barron if he falls that far)
2. He is definitely keeping in mind the 6 games we play in division each year. This is especially true with the RBs we face - Jamal, Bettis, Staley, and Droughns. All require sure tackling and probably some beef to take them down. This may point to defensive line help or even Thomas Davis. (I am strongly hoping for Davis to fall to us)
That is what I got out of it..

After listening to the complete conference, I feel strongly that if TD falls to us at 17, Tags will be at the podium before 3 minutes are gone. On the other hand, I would take Barron, but what are the chances that he falls that far, and if so why not wait for next year to take a T early, which should be a better class? _________________
