Assuming the world doesn't end. Who takes this divison? And if you think it's obviously the Texans how does everything play out with the rest of the teams. A lot is being talked about with Indy and Peyton of course, Jax is going to look for some offensive talent to put around Gabbert to see if he can be a successful QB. And Tennessee with Kenny Britt coming off the injury, and of course CJ coming off a bad year could be a team to watch.

I'm a homer but I still think Houston barely takes it:

Texans 11-5
Titans 10-6 (wc)
Indy with Luck 6-10
Jax 4-12

Are your projections basically basing this off what has happened plus Luck?

4-12 for Jacksonville is very sad to see given that we will have a ton to spend and the offense really cant get worse. The OL is getting healthy and the defense was great when the CBs werent on the IR. Its not like I'm expecting the division, but I feel as if 4-12 for a team with a very good defense and an elite RB plus our weapons WILL get better

Houston should easily take the division with that said. But if Locker starts all 16 games they should win 10 games.

This is going to be a two team race in my opinion. The Colts will be rebuilding and the Jags still have Gabbert as their QB with too many holes to plug in right now. I expect the Texans to win the division but the Titans can get a WC spot I think.

Gabbert at QB is a legitimate criticism but what do you consider too many holes? The defense was great last year, we could use a pass rusher and someone to replace an aging Mathis but neither are glaring needs. The defense was still very good all year even with a lot of players on IR. On the offense we need receivers clearly but the running game is one of the best in the league and the line is quite good when healthy. We have a lot of money to spend and a top 10 pick which should be more than enough to fill those holes.
The Gabbert part is legit and the team will live or die by his progression but I don't think it's fair to say they have too many holes to fill. That said I think the Texans are the clear favorite to win with the titans keeping it close most of the year however don't be surprised if the Jags are right in the thick of things until then end. Indy could surprise but I think this year is pretty much just going to be a rebuilding year for them.

I think the favorites are the Texans, but I can see the Titans taking this too. The Texans will have a little harder schedual and if the Titans improve their line a little Chris Johnson can put up close to 2k in yards again. Jake Locker has looked good in the little action he has seen, so he is obviously the wild card here.

This might be a bit biased since I'm a Titans fan.

Texans: 13-3 I think they will be the team to beat next season. Matt Schaub is horrifically underrated and they have a really good 1-2 punch at Rb if they keep Foster which I think they will. If they lose Mario Williams that will hurt but I still think they'll have a top 5 defense.

Titans: 10-6: Jake Locker looked great in the time he got last year and he should be a stud starting next season. We should also fix our offensive line woes which should help Chris Johnson put up prolific numbers again. But what I'm most optimistic for is how our defense is going to improve under Jerry Gray in his second season and one with a full offseason. Lastly having our best offensive playmaker back (Kenny Britt.) Should make things a bit easier for Locker in his first year starting.

Colts: 6-10: Colts will be a lot less woeful with Andrew Luck at the helm who will put up one of the best rookie seasons ever but it's not enough for a Colts team in transition who don't have much star power. Defense will still have to be overhauled and unless they address it this year wide receiver is a really pressing need. I think that things will be looking up for the Colts though with four more wins then the previous year and their next franchise quarterback.

Jaguars: 6-10 The Jaguars will win one more game then last year. Gabbert will improve a bit ( around a 71 quarterback rating this year.) With some actual weapons at wideout by the time the season rolls around. But I think that will be offset by the fact that I think that Maurice Jones Drew even will have a tough time rushing as well as he did last year. He was almost 300 yards ahead of the next top running back ( Ray Rice) I expect 1400 rushing yards for him this year. The Defense will continue to be very good but the offense will still be a detriment to their ability. I think their team as a whole is very good besides qb but in this league you need one to win consistently and while I don't think Gabberts already a bust like many believe I don't think he'll take a major leap this year with an offensive coordinator change which could benefit him in the long run but hurts him this year.

It's gonna be a fistfight between the Texans and Titans, and it will come down to how much Jake Locker improves between now and the first matchup between the two.

I can see whichever team wins the first H2H matchup getting the momentum needed to push ahead for the division, with the other one trailing for the WC.

I think Titans will be good, but Texans are legit SB contenders, so them.

Bit dif from my last AFC South rankings. I happen to change my mind.

Houston Texans 14-2: Get another WR with everyone healthy. How the hell are you going to beat them?
Jacksonville Jaguars 8-8: Surprise. They sign Matt Moore who is released by the dolphins after they ink Flynn. He relieves Gabbert who is considered a bust after throwing 1TD and 15INTs in the first three weeks and Moore comes in and does much better <<< this is total speculation.
Tennessee Titans 8-8: This team is very unpredictable and could even win the division. AFC's NY Giants.
Indianapolis Colts 4-12: This team is rebuilding. They will be down for a while.

I'm very confident in the Texans going into next season. I think the Titans have a shot at the Wild Card though.

I disagree that our schedule will be harder.

Between division teams there are only 4 different games. The two against each other and then 1 against 2 of the divisions within the conference.

AFC South plays AFC East this year so only the game against the North and West are going to be different.

Seeing that most agree that the Texans are better right now (not necessarilly by much but better) that is harder for the Titans than the Texans. Let's just assume that is a wash though given they are close enough and division rivals (heated ones at that).

The other two games are Denver/Baltimore for the Texans and Chargers/Steelers for the Titans. I know it's projecting so I could be wrong but I think our duo is the easier duo.

Yea the schedules are not really that much different aside from the AFC West and AFC North Opponents. I do think the Titans have a tougher opponent in the Chargers especially since they haven't beaten them in forever for some odd reason. The Titans record will mainly be on whoever the QB is. If its Hasselbeck, they can still make the playoffs but the offense just wont be as dynamic. With Locker the team has great potential. I still see the Texans winning it but the Titans with Locker/Britt back/O-Line fixed/Defense improving and getting 1 year older(were the 2nd youngest D last year and most likely getting younger with Hope, Griffin, Ruud, and possibly Finnegan leaving) could give a great run. Ultimately I believe the division will go............

Texans: Will be in the 11-5 to 12-4 range. The most talented team but have trouble staying healthy.

Titans: 9-7 to 10-6 range. All depends on Locker's development and the D improving.

Jaguars: 7-9 to 8-8. Good young D but Gabbert still holds them back.

Colts: 3-13 to 4-12. Peyton gone and new QB in along with probably an overhaul of the roster(could part ways with Wayne, Mathis, Garcon, and Saturday)

That would be my prediction as of now with everybody back healthy plus starting QB changes on the Titans and Colts. All this could change with what these teams do in the draft and FA of course.

I see the Texans buliding off of last year's success and taking this division with ease.

I'd be okay with Matt Moore as a backup. 1-15 is funny there BL.

That 1 TD 15 INT comment was a pretty clueless one.
I think it'll be the Texans for sure, but I'd love to see the Jags win it.
I think the Jags finish 9-7 as a surprise, but still miss the playoffs.
I think the Titans go 12-4.
Colts go 4-12 without Peyton, Luck or no Luck.
