| I've wanted to ask this for a while but what about peton his a beast and could put a big dent in our RB spot right now...so my questions is whats the reality of him becoming a lion? could he, or is he old news. |

I loved the guy when he had his great season w/ the Browns - however, he's probably out for a big payday and, with his durability concerns/running style, the Lions shouldn't bite on a big payday.
For the right price, I'd be interested. _________________ Football is love, love is life. |

No thanks. Unless he is for very cheap I don't want him. The reality is RBs do not really live up to 2nd contracts very often. I'd rather draft a guy late and fill him into the rotation or pick up a UDFA. _________________

I have been reading if we are going to [inappropriate/removed] rb depth its going to be more like best play style more question marks with his health.. _________________

While that may be true, I predict we carry four RBs again. There is room for one of each type. _________________ Football is love, love is life. |

| I just dont think he fits us well. He is agile for his size, but with our scheme we really need backs that can cut a lot, while Hillis is more of a downhill, FB-led runner. I doubt we even look at him. |

With our cap situation, I don't think we can afford to spend on him. He's probably not going to get a huge contract, but someone will pay him $5 million.
We have a weird RB situation. We have two very talented backs, but their injury history suggests we might be starting Kevin Smith again by midseason. Depending on what progress they see from Leshoure, they might take a look at some free agent or drafttee running backs, but honestly I don't think they'd give Hillis much of a look because of his price tag and our tight cap situation. _________________

I don't want the Lions to go after him. He has a terrible attitude. There was a report this past season that the team had to have a team only meeting and sit him down and talk to him about his attitude/contract situation/ etc. I don't want someone who can't stay focused on football on the Lions roster. They need to go grab a hard worker who they can count on, and I'm just not that impressed with Hillis, and I think he thinks he's worth more than he is. That's just speculation on my part, but I don't want to overpay for him if he was the target. I think they can find a better fit in a RB than Hillis. _________________

This is pretty much what I was coming here to say. Word for word. _________________

Agreed. After the "stuff" he did last season, I think he shot himself in the foot as far as a big payday. Injuries are one thing, being a team player is completely different. I understand there is a business side of football, I also understand that you don't handle it the way he did. _________________ The Lions will finish 8-8 in the 2013-14 season.

Here is one of the articles on him...
Cleveland Browns weary of Peyton Hillis drama, prepared to let him go after season, sources say
| Quote: |
"It's one thing after another, and what's been out there isn't even the half of it," one source said. |
| Quote: | | After everything that's transpired with Hillis this season, some of the players weren't sure what to make of the dramatic display. "But the injury is legit," a source said. |
| Quote: | | Browns quarterback Seneca Wallace confirmed a report on Yahoo Sports and in The Plain Dealer that the players are tired of some of Hillis' antics. Michael Silver of Yahoo Sports first reported that some of the players talked to Hillis on Wednesday about his recent actions. A source told The Plain Dealer that it was the Browns' "regular leadership group," which includes Hillis. They stayed after their meeting with Shurmur to confront and support Hillis. |
| Quote: | The players were annoyed that Hillis spent most of pregame warm-ups in San Francisco -- despite being ruled inactive for the second straight week with the hamstring -- throwing passes from midfield to the crossbar alongside third-string quarterback Thad Lewis
"It was a bad look," one veteran Browns player told Silver. "And it did not sit well with any of us."
Said Wallace: "Yes, it did get on some people's nerves that he was throwing balls when he was injured. But at the end of the day, it's his last name on the back of his jersey, and he has to decide how he wants to represent himself."
|
| Quote: | | Wallace also confirmed a report by The Plain Dealer that players were upset Hillis went to Arkansas to get married last Tuesday instead of coming in for treatment. He practiced Wednesday and then sat out the rest of the week, including the Niners game. |
| Quote: | "I think everybody's noticed a little bit of a change in him, but he could have some family issues or something," said Wallace. "Maybe his priorities have changed. We have a whole new staff, so a lot of things have changed. Maybe some of it's overblown."
|
| Quote: | One veteran Browns player told Silver: "I've never seen anything like it. Last year, Peyton was such a positive, inspirational force on our team -- but now he's like a different guy. It's like he's in a funk that he can't get out of, and it's killing us, because we really need him. And we've told him that. But we're at the point where we just don't know what to do."
|
| Quote: | Another said: "The organization is not going to reward a guy they think is moping or acting out or going about it the wrong way, just out of principle, and because of the message it sends to younger guys. And I totally understand that."
Browns General Manager Tom Heckert told Yahoo Sports, "The guys we did sign [to big contracts], those are the guys we feel are ultimate team guys who want to be here." |
That's enough for me to stay away from him. _________________

| I would love to have him on our team, he is a bruiser, he can catch out the backfield. He does fumble from time to time but I'll take that chance. Our RB's haven't faired any better! best from his head to toes, leshoure's Achilles I still believe leshoure can bounce back this season but best is done IMO so I think Hillis leshoure and smith would be awesome. And from everything Ive read you won't have to break the bank to sign him |

If we want to go with a bruiser I'd rather bring in Mike Tolbert or Jason Snelling. Both should probably be cheaper too. _________________

Dear mother of god No.
We need high character individuals. Not one who derailed his teams season as well as his career by being unhappy.
No way in hell would I be happy if I say Hillis in a Lions jersey. |
