Kemba Walker was the emotional leader of that team. Who do they have that is anywhere close to that?
They don't. Jeremy Lamb is as close as it comes but he's not vocal at all.

Damn fixed draft.
I honestly think it is...If it's an actual lottery, why not perform the lottery on national TV instead of just revealing cards?

Eh. I don't think the lottery is fixed. Even if they showed the actual lottery process on television and some team lucked into winning, people would cry foul.

Derrick Rose to the Bulls always gets me.

He doesn't even look like he plays with emotion. I actually thought Alex Oriahki could be the guy.

Just too many instances for me to think that it's not. LeBron to Cleveland, Rose to Chicago, Blake to Los Angeles and then Irving to Cleveland (to make up for the loss of LeBron). That's just a few that makes me scratch my head.

I agree, at least Lebron to Cleveland made sense because Cleveland had the best chance for the #1 pick.

EDIT: nevermind.

Denver and Cleveland each had a 22.5% chance to win the 2003 Lottery.

Chicago had a 1.7% chance of landing Rose.

Clippers had a 17.7% chance of landing Blake.

Cavaliers had a 2.8% chance of landing Irving.

The Blake and LeBron lotteries aren't really crazy. Both were still top three odds that won. Even the Irving one wasn't crazy. They had the highest overall odds of landing the top overall pick. They just didn't do it with the pick that everyone thought they would do it with. The Rose one is pretty random but I think it happens that way sometimes. Anyone remember when Portland won the lottery with a 5.3% chance and took Greg Oden? It didn't work out. Why would the NBA want Oden in Portland or Durant in Seattle? They had the 5th (Seattle) and 7th (Portland) best odds of winning the draft. Hell, in 2005 Milwaukee had a 6.3% chance of winning the lottery.

I'll be shocked if anyone besides New Orleans or Charlotte gets the #1 pick. That would be definitive proof that the lottery isn't rigged to me.

Technically it was higher than that if you include the % of their higher pick

Yeah. I touched on that in the little paragraph below that.

Yeah, I'm aware. I've just always wondered why they have the drawing behind closed doors. Why not just have it on TV? I understand wanting to reveal the #1 pick last (which wouldn't happen if the lottery was done on TV, IIRC they go from 1 to 14 in determining the order, not 14 to 1) but it would erase any doubt IMO.

Would it be rigged if Washington won it again?

I think the only way I think it would be rigged is if some team in the 9-14 range won the lottery this year and got Anthony Davis. Think of Utah, New Orleans (with the Minnesota pick), Memphis, or Phoenix right now. Maybe Cleveland to some extent because of where they sit but they're gonna start sliding down more because of injuries.

What if New Orleans won the lottery with the Minnesota pick and then had the #2 pick of their own? Laughing
