Beane is also gambling that he can flip Cespedes in 2-3 years for a good prospect or two. Typical Beane stuff.
That's what annoys me. He runs the Athletics like it's a stock market.

He's just trying to get that team out of town. That place is an absolute dump. Should've taken the BOS job.

I believe that's the #1 priority of Emperor Selig right now. San Jose is the proposed new location, correct?

Right now it's San Jose or Fremont(a suburb of SJ ten minutes away). There is still the whole territorial rights thing with SJ, but SJ has been much more willing to work with the A's in terms of getting a deal done and helping the A's build a stadium.

He's a minority owner.

IIRC he wasn't when that oppurtunity arose.

Would this make the A's willing to trade Reddick?

Assuming he makes the opening day roster, the first big league pitcher he's going to face will be Felix Hernandez. That will be awesome to watch.
Just throw breaking balls he will.

He could turn into a great player, but I really dont understand it from Oaklands perspective. He isnt going to do anything to help the team get out of the cellar with the players they have. Trading him in two years is the only rational thing I see from this.

From my understanding they don't want to get OUT of the cellar they're in. They want prospects for when they get into their new park.

In other news Yoenis Cespedes will not be heard of again until he is traded for 3 or 4 prospects, who in turn will be flipped for more prospects in two years who in turn will be flipped for more prospects in a few more years
