I know this won't be a popular idea, and I'm about 85% sure I hate it myself, but as per the report posted below, the Jets are "curious" and if that's the case than it is at least worth discussing.

Could we do a New England move and get him, keep him for a few weeks, and trade for a draft pick? #AlbertHanesworth _________________

Doesn't make sense for the Jets, IMO, because you have Holmes (for now). _________________

The one thing I will say is that Randy and Plax are entirely different receivers, and I believe Randy would've been much better for the offense (we lacked deep threats).
I don't want him because I think we need to look for youth at WR, I think it wouldn't be a disaster. If Moss is motivated he's one of the best deep threats in the game, and if he was truly "distracted" because of family issues that may have been a legitimate reason for his 2010 collapse.
There's no questioning whether teams were interested. I remembered reading that the Jets actually preferred Moss over Burress but wouldn't give him a 2nd year and that teams (Philly) were offering him contracts even after he retired.
If we didn't have the whole locker room debacle/power struggle, I wouldn't mind this signing especially because we're expected to dial back the playbook in 2012 and the team would still probably draft a young receiver to groom behind him, but because of what went down last season I think it's better off that we don't go after him. _________________

I disagree ! Thay have alot in common. They are both old and both are scum bags. I vote a definite no. One scum bag WR on our team is enough.

| Another guy who is going to quit! No thanks. I'll take Mechum because he will go from being the 3rd option to the 2nd. Only issue is if Moss goes back to New England which is possible because they have zero deep threat and in the end it cost them agains the Giants. |

A healthy, motivated Randy Moss would have been better than Plax this past year. However, dude is 35 and I don't care if he can still run a 4.3 he just has too much potential to rip apart the locker room. We already have one diva in Holmes, rather not add to that combustability. And from all reports, sounds like the FO won't want to add questionable players either. So, no on Moss, though I do think he could be great if he went back to NE or perhaps Philly. |

| The Randy Moss benefit/risk conversation has gone on for his entire career. And at this point, after an unproductive '10 and not even playing in 2011 and at age 35, the benefit of bringing on Randy Moss is as low as it's ever been and the risk greater because for the first time you don't even know what a motivated Randy Moss is capable of, if you can get him there. |
