In other news it looks like we offered Bowles the DC job but he turned it down.
"Philadelphia Eagles defensive backs coach Todd Bowles said he turned down an offer to become the Oakland Raiders defensive coordinator."
He likely knew he would be next in line as the DC in Philly so I dont blame him. And the fact that he was overlooked for the HC job probably didnt help. |

Can't blame him. Probably knew that there wasn't much room for growth as Allen is a young guy

I posted that like a month ago. In all likelihood he might end up the Eagles' DC if their defense continues to struggle under Castillo.

That's what I thought. That's too bad. Like has been said, he probably knows he's next in line with the Eagles. The fact that Allen is a defensive minded HC, while Reid is offensive minded, probably also played into the decision.

Raiders hire new secondary coach: Johnnie Lynn
Coached the Eagles secondary last year & got fired after 1 season. Apparently got a lot of blame for their woes as well.
So much for Rod Woodson.

Woodson got hired elsewhere already anyway. I forget where though

Back in the day I used to root hard for Oklahoma and Jameel Holloway and Keith Jackson at TE and the wishbone of Patrick Collins and Spencer Tillman at RB with Lydell Carr at FB and Carl Cabbiness at WR. Hutson was one of the HUGE OG's for the Sooners on that OL with Anthony Phillips and Greg Johnson as the bookend OT's. They had Sonny Brown at one CB with Ricky Dixon at FS and Boz and Paul Migliazzo at ILB. Hell, Hutson may be the OL that picked up the fumble-rooski against the Hurricanes in the national championship game. I remember it was one of the OG's.
Man, that was my SQUAD!!! 
The "Bootleggers Boy" Barry Switzer just couldn't beat those damn Canes. 
Boy did I hate Michael Irvin and that fat faced Melvin Bratton.

Oh well. Honestly not a huge loss other than his vast knowledge. But there are a ton of DB coaches with less actual playing experience that can get that job done.
