I would only like to keep Crabtree,Morgan and Ginn(return duties only) from the current roster:
Depth Chart:
1. Vincent Jackson ( throw the money at him, has all the physical tools we need in a top flight reciever. Give Alex a legitimate weapon for once)
2. Michael Crabtree (needs to improve, hopefully after signing VJAX it takes the pressure off him.. and we get some true value out of him for being a top ten pick
3. Josh Morgan (always been a consistent reciever, like him on the team)
4. Tommy Streeter (Draft him in the 3rd/4th round as a potential sleeper)
5. Ted Ginn (we need his return duties, people didnt realise how valuable this guy was unti the NFC championship. _________________

I would love it, but I doubt we get Streeter and VJ. I would be happy with one. _________________

I think you have a pretty ideal 5 there. I do think Streeter (after the Combine) will go earlier than our rd 3 pick. I'm flexible on the vet FA, as long as he gives us a big jump-ball weapon that forces defenses away from VD and the others more frequently. _________________

1. Sanu (1st round pick)
2. Crabtree
3. Criner (2nd or 3rd round pick, depends on how far he rises during combine. Yes, we draft two receivers )
4. Morgan
5. Williams
6. Eric Weems (FA signing from Atlanta. Becomes our KR over Ginn who we do not resign. MAinly returner/emergency receiver) _________________

1-Michael Crabtree-I think he's a #1 reciever. I'm in the minority but I know crabs is a #1
2- Rueben Randle-Whether round 1 or 2 were gettin a receiver. Randle is my favorite of this draft.
3-Plaxico Burress-I have a feeling he wants to play for a team that can win and Plax could be the redzone threat we need.
4-Kyle Williams-Still love him him and Alex seemed to be on point this year.
5-Ted Ginn-pretty much a lock here till he retires
Josh Morgan-I dont think we should resign him with the other FA's available.
Bowe/VJ/Djax-These guys all have too big of ego's IMO for Baarlbaugh to want to bring them in. Bowe is most likely of the three though. _________________

It's time we make a splash in Free Agency.
We went to the NFC Championship game with the worst WR corp in the league in my opinon.
Kyle Williams should not be retained. Not only because of what he did in the championship game but we needed him to step up to the plate as a receiver after Braylon Edwards was cut, and he responded with nothing.
Alex Smith needs a #1 WR. We need to see if he can have some success without dumping off to Vernon all the time.
Do we really have time to wait for Sanu or anyone else to develop into that #1 reciever. _________________

Plaxico is one player that wont cost us as much, but if he retains his form could be a steal. He has always been great in the redzone and was no different this year.
Im just worried if he will do the same as Braylon Edwards though? _________________

I want a 6th WR, because if Ginn sees the field as a WR again I may puke... _________________

Would be thrilled with this outcome, but paying Vincent Jackson would probably mean we wouldn't be able to resign a couple of our own guys that we otherwise would've liked to bring back if we could afford them (probably Brooks, maybe Rogers, and/or possibly Snyder).
IMO, Streeter looks to be worthy of our 2nd rounder as of right now. He is exactly the kind of raw, but very high potential prospect that we'd target if we signed a legit #1 receiver like VJax. (I'd be just as happy with Stephen Hill or Dwight Jones.)
For me, if we kept 6 WR's on the roster, Kyle Williams would be on it. Otherwise, as in your proposed scenario of only carrying 5 receivers, I agree that Williams would not make the cut. Morgan offers stability and was on his way to establishing himself this season before he got hurt, and Ginn is too valuable as a returner. _________________

NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora doesn't see "any way" free agent Vincent Jackson returns to the Chargers.
The Union-Tribune San Diego has reported the Chargers don't plan to use the franchise tag on V-Jax. The sides are open to a long-term deal, but Jackson is set to break the bank on the open market. "There's too many teams in need of a wide receiver," explained LaCanfora. "Somebody's going to give him big bucks." LaCanfora lists the 49ers, Rams, and Bucs as three potential landing spots.

so does anyone know how much money this guy will want? _________________

I dont know what team you were watching, but as a receiver KW did very well. Maybe his return bungles are clouding his play. _________________

Gotta figure his next contract will be 7-8 mil per. He is a bit risky... as he will be 30... looking for at least 4 years... has been known to make poor off-field decisions... could be damn good for us too though, and help get us ring #6, 7, and 8. _________________

hmm hitting 30? idk. Like you said it will be a bit risky. Who knows how he'll play once he gets a big pay day knowing that he is hitting the age of thirty. _________________

What games were you watching:
Regular Season stats: 20 Receptions/241 yards/ 3 touchdowns
Post season stats: 2 Receptions/10 yards/ 0 touchdowns
If you are happy with that production.....GOD help us. _________________
