I knew he restructured his deal last offseason. Didn't realize this though. _________________

Lol, that is kind of harsh. _________________

Brian Dawkins certainly has some incredible leadership abilities, and I was happy that he played last season. Especially with the new, young up and coming Safeties on our team. I was glad he didn't retire a year ago, and was hoping he would sign a player/coach type of contract with the idea that he would transition into coaching, now. I'm assuming that his neck issues will force the retirement issue, but if I know anything about John Fox, I suspect he will be begging Brian Dawkins to put off any decisions until TC with the hope that he can play another year.
In any case, Brian Dawkins is a class act who is likely heading for the Hall of Fame, who I believe has reached the finish line that "John Lynch" reached about 3 seasons before he retired. |

Not really. Dawkins is pushing 40, which is absurd for a guy who plays the position like he does. He's already said that if he's playing next year, it will be for Denver. It wouldn't be surprising to see him retire, and there's nothing harsh about suggesting his career is probably over. It's amazing it's lasted this long at the level it has. |
