Didn't see a thread for this..I definitely would have voted for Alex Smith or Steve Smith, I think they got this one wrong. _________________

Being bad players. I'm not sure you can even say Alex Smith comeback from that. 49ers just masked him well. |

Steve Smith should have won. Matthew Stafford and Alex Smith both were never good. I think CPOY has to go to someone who was good, had a bad year or was injured for a while, and then bounced back. Smith had been (below) average for his whole career and had a somewhat above average season. He shouldn't be considered. Stafford never had a good year and was injured the past 2 seasons. _________________

The issue is, this isn't criteria for the award. |

Good for him.
I'm not sure if he deserved though because he really didn't come back from any type of solid resume.
He was a rook and then was injured and then was good. I'm glad he could rebound from those injuries and have a healthy great year and I hope he has many more. I just don't think that qualifies him for CPOY though. _________________ AAL: DeAndre Levy 31 Tackles

Alex Smith should have won the award, his team had more success than Stafford's team |

Stafford won because he created the term Lob City with Calvin Johnson this year. _________________

| Got it right IMO. Its not like Steve or Alex Smith were injured like Stafford. Not only that but Stafford had better years than both of them. Much deserved IMO. |

Seems like injury is the main criteria for this. If Jamaal Charles has another good season in 2012 he will probably win it.
| Quote: | He received 21 votes, six more than Cleveland linebacker D'Qwell Jackson. San Francisco quarterback Alex Smith finished third, followed by Carolina receiver Steve Smith, Denver defensive end Elvis Dumervil, New England defensive end Andre Carter and Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

people also forget Stafford threw for over 5000 yards this season as well and it wouldn't big a much bigger story if it wasn't for Brady or Brees. _________________
