At first blush I'm pretty much of the same opinion as [UMN]. A few minor things would be:

- Not all that interested in re-signing Sage prior to FA.
- Would probably allow Shiancoe to go to free agency and see if we can't get ourselves a better deal with him due to lack of interest or even go with another TE in the same price range.
- I'd be interested in bringing E.J. back, but only if the price is right. Another guy who I'd let go to market and see what we can do.

- As for Robison and Hutchinson being on the block (which I do agree with) what should we be looking for in return? Both guys probably wouldn't net us a draft pick that's worth much of anything, so I believe we should look for a swap of a player that's also out of favor. Just my opinion, though, feel free to add your two cents.

[UMN] what would we be looking at, cap wise, going into the offseason with your proposed cuts (and hypothetically moving Hutchinson and/or Robison) before re-signing players?

Well if we're putting Robison on the block, then a DE becomes a huge priority in the off-season. Not a huge fan of this move personally unless you guys want to use a potential first or second round pick on a DE.

Everson Griffen? Christian Ballard?

Both would seem to be capable of playing base end due to their strength and athleticism; although I'm only up for trading Robison if we get a 2nd round pick or higher, otherwise it's just not worth it.

I just think when you have a good thing, you don't try and fix it. Robison had a darn good year in what was his first full season starting. He isn't a complete DE by any means, but unless someone offers up a 2nd round pick, I wouldn't move him. We have a lot of holes to fill and having a guy like Griffin as your back up is a good thing.

I will just say that I don't agree with your assessment of his season and will leave it at that. Wink

I'm not exactly sure how it works, not having a position or anything. I don't think I'd be very active but on the Robison debate. I don't see there being a huge drop off between Robison and Griffen. Biggest concern would be Griffen's motor but that seems to be pretty good, too. If you could get a second for Robison I think that would be really good value.

Not be on "staff" doesn't mean a whole lot. There's nothing stopping you from popping in and commenting on a discussion. So feel free to follow along/participate.

Not sure if it's been done yet, but I've popped in to the General FFMD forum to ask for a clarification on Elimimian.

Can the Vikings get a clarification on the status of Soliman Elimimian, we were told that he wouldn't be on our roster because he didn't show up as such on NFL.com or Vikings.com, but he does show up on the roster for Vikings.com

He's just listed under Soloman Elimimian instead of Elimimian, Soliman.

I'll put him on the roster now

Cool

Added to roster.

Are we keeping track of a PS (61) or sticking to the 53 man roster?

From what I've seen, Ballard took all his snaps inside this year. Why stunt his development as a DT?

In his first year starting for the Vikings, Robison made as many sacks as Edwards ever did here, before leaving for his pay day. I agree that he is more of a liability in the rushing department. But he is a quality starter in this league.

I will leave it at that.

Head Coach PM checking in, folks!

I'll be posting a lot later tonight. I like the look of [UMN]'s preliminary work.
