Hey fellow FFMDers, just wanted to throw this out there:

Eagles 2012 Trade Block

Quote:
Asante Samuel, CB
DeSean Jackson, WR (Tag and Trade)
Winston Justice, OT
Mike Patterson, DT
Darryl Tapp, DE

Please feel free to inquire with realistic offers for any of these players. Also, we will listen to any realistic offer for any player on our roster other than LeSean McCoy, Nnamdi Asomugha, and Trent Cole.

With other teams throwing around their trade blocks already, we should probably start thinking about who we want on ours, along with our asking price.

Whose everyone thinkin, especially you Paul

Id throw Ty Warren and Kevin Vickerson on there for a 5th-6th as well.

But yeah that should be our list. However, every player EXCEPT Von, Doom, Clady, Bay-Bay, Carter, Champ, Kuper and Franklin should be up for grabs.

I'd be down for:

1. Offensive coordinator

2. D coordinator

3. Consultant

Re: Eagles

Asante Samuel tempts me... but I'm determined to get younger at CB.

Clear upgrade at RCB though.

I'll try and thrash out an agreement and we'll discuss the pros and cons after we've got an agreement in principle.

DJ + Bad Contract (Goodman?) for Asante?? Age is about the same, not positive on contract though.

DJ is 29 and makes 5 million in 2012
Asante is 31 and will make 8.4m base + 1 million prorated signing bonus = cap hit of 9.4 million.

They need to take DJ + a contract in order to make a deal, lets not kill a ton of cap space and also get older in the process. Goodman evens the cap out, throw out Dawkins name if they want a homecoming.

Woodyard can step into DJ's spot, as we've seen him do - would just need to re-sign him.

I too will be too busy to devote to a full time position, but would love to chime in on decisions when I'm available.

As Elliot and I have discussed internally DJ could be shopped if we successfully retain Woodyard. I'd be looking for at very least a second tbh. Top 10 4-3 WLB with experience of playing at a high level 3-4 WILB.

The Asante Samuel is WAY too high. I honestly rated him as a fifth round stopgap... They want a 2.

Yeah in no way would I pay a 2. Id look at a 3rd at best.

Theres much better CB options, especially in the draft, then to use a 2nd round pick on Samuels.

I wouldn't even do a 3rd. Late 4th or Rams 5th maybe. You've got to ask yourself if you think this team will be in position to win a SB while Samuel is still a good player - I think not.

Here's a list of our free agents - including restricted

Lance Ball - RB -RFA - I wouldn't extend him a Qualifying Offer. He's not a bad player, but I'd like to see what Jeremiah Johnson or Mario Fannin can do in this role.

Brodrick Bunkley - DT - UFA - Have to re-sign him. Mebane's 5 years 25 million is a good benchmark, although Bunkley should come in a bit cheaper than that.

Chris Clark - OT - RFA - With Harris back to play the backup Tackle role this guy is very expendable. I wouldn't extend a QO to him.

Britton Colquitt - P - RFA - Bring him back.

Daniel Fells - TE - UFA - I can go either way with this one. Wouldn't mind him on another cheap deal.

Mario Haggan - LB - UFA - I would bring him back. If Von gets lazy vs the run Mario can fill in. If Von gets injured you keep some pass rush ability at the SLB position. Should also come cheap.

Derrick Harvey - DE - UFA - See yaaaaa

Jason Hunter - DE - UFA - Another guy I could go either way with.

Spencer Larsen - FB - UFA - No need really to bring him back, we could probably pick up a better blocker in UDFA.

Joe Mays - MLB - UFA - I don't think he's a good fit with what we're doing and what we need at the position. I'd let him walk.

Ryan McBean - DT - RFA - Would look to upgrade our depth at his expense. Wouldn't send out a QO for him.

Matt Prater - K - UFA - Gotta lock him up.

Brady Quinn - QB - UFA - Doesn't matter to me, probably best to find a QB more similar in skill to Tebow, or the best backup available in case Tebow tanks.

Dante Rosario - TE - UFA - Let walk unless we don't think we can pick up a better blocker / special teamer in free agency for cheap.

Eddie Royal - WR - UFA - Realistically he wants to be back. I wouldn't be mad either way. Re-signing him means we don't need to find a return specialist.

Marcus Thomas - DT - UFA - Another guy I dont care what we do with. If he stays, he needs to surrender his starting job and we need to still look for a very good starter in the draft or FA.

Matt Willis - WR/ST - RFA - I'd extend him a QO. Will be cheap, likely no team will put in a claim, and he's a good gunner.

Jonathan Wilhite - DB - UFA - Leave

Wesley Woodyard - OLB - UFA - I would bring him back. Quality locker room guy. Very good backup WLB who can start if we trade DJ. Just a glue guy, makes sense to bring him back.
