I could not be more happy to be wrong, and I'm glad Cam showed up today with his big boy pants. _________________

Again, Bowman is far from outplaying Willis. I don't know how many games you have watched, but Willis has been the man. We have used him in coverage much more and he is responding.
Willis has 2 Sacks, 4 FFs, 1 INT, 12 PDs, and 5 stuffs
Bowman has 0 sacks 0 FFs, 0 INTs, 7 PDs, and 7 stuffs
Now, Bowman is playing great and at an pro bowl level, but Willis is playing like a DPOY candidate. _________________

If that is DPOY Candidate level, I wonder what Suggs, Ngata and Woodson are playing at. _________________

So now it's Suggs and Ngata and not Lewis? Ngata is a DPOY candidate himself no doubt about it. Suggs is playing great as well. Heck, when you have great defenses you have multiple studs. No difference with the Niners with Willis, Bowman, and Smith. _________________

9ers fan here.
Good game, you guys kicked asses fair and square. I wish we had a full week to prepare for the ridiculous pass rush you guys brought upon Alex Smith tonight. This loss stings and feels like we lost a playoff game after the 8-game winning streak we were on, but I'm glad it happened to a team I respect. Not just because Jim's brother is the head coach, but because we've been trying to build a replica of Ravens football over the last decade.
Hope to see you guys soon |

Even tonight Bowman was the one making all the plays, whereas Willis I only noticed him make one play and that was the big hit on Ricky Williams, and the play where Dickson caught a big first-down pass over him.
And thus, that's how I drew my conclusions |
LOL, clearly outshined him? Get out of here, Willis has been amazing and is the best MLB/ILB in the game. Willis and Bowman played well today but it was the offense that held us back. Willis had a PD and an stuff today to go with 8 tackles. Sorry, but Ray Lewis is not better than Willis and neither is Bowman. However, I don't want to sound bitter or anything, because you guys played a great win and deserve to enjoy it. Good luck rest of the season. |
I love Willis' game but that PD was very generously credited. Rickey Williams had dropped the ball already before Willis even hit him.
Ray Lewis had a similar play before that wasn't credited as a PD:

Willis is a great player but he definitely didn't play his best game today. He was neutralized by Yanda and Leach for most of the game, didn't make any plays in coverage, and went no where on the handful of times he attempted to blitz.
Also, he didn't have a STUFF. Stuff statistics only include Tackles for Loss on run plays. Willis' tackle for a loss was on a pass play:
1-10-BAL46(4:3 J.Flacco pass short right to R.Williams to BLT 45 for -1 yards (P.Willis) [I.Sopoaga].
It was a nice play no doubt but not a "Stuff". |

The ball was might have been dropped before, but he still had a hand on it as Willis hit him. That's right, it was just a TFL and not a stuff. Never said he had the greatest game, but still wasn't too bad. Niners defense played well enough to win. Don't get how Bowman is clearly outshining him this year though. _________________

Difference about the Lewis play was the ball was COMPLETELY out of Keller's hands when he got hit. I believe Ricky still had his hand on the ball as it was dropping. _________________

Anyone else find it kind of interesting that we've played 3 games since the last time the Steelers walked off the field?
At 4pm November 13, they were 7-3 and we were 6-2. Now we're 8-3 and they're still 7-3. |

| Ngata and Woodson are DPOY candidates, Suggs is not. He's been wildly inconsistent the past few weeks and having one explosive game every once in a while won't win him DPOY unless he breaks the sack record and D Ware doesn't break it. |

It was the same way with Ricky. The ball was a yard from the ground before Patrick finished him off with a hit. It was a very generous PD but a great hit nonetheless.
Take this for what it is worth; Willis had his lowest grade against the run last night vs the Ravens since the beginning of the 2008 Season. (I don't put 100% stock in pro football focus but it can be used for some info).
Flacco also completed 5/6 passes while Willis was in coverage for a 91.7 QB rating.
Willis is an elite ILB and the closest thing I have seen to Ray Lewis. I have a lot of respect for him but yesterday was easily his worst game of the season in my opinion.

There is the Willis hit on Williams.
At the 30 second mark you clearly see the ball on the turf before he is hit.
Mike Mayock then says "Ricky had already dropped the football". |

I am so pumped about the win, but believe or not the Browns next week might be an even bigger test. The seahawks game was supposed to be the one where we showed the world that we can demolish a crappy team and we came out flat. If we can beat a pretty poor browns team after a huge emotional win, I will feel fairly confident that we can get a playoff bye. Then again the last time I was confident was against the Jags soooo....I guess we take it one game at a time.
Because I didn't get to watch the game, does someone mind giving me a quick analysis of how Flacco played and how Cam called the game? thanks in advance |

Agreed.
Suggs can look downright unstoppable at times. But he can also disappear during games. |
