Excellent book. King really know how to manage a plethora of characters and give them there own unique persona.
Best SK book (excluding the Dark Tower Series) since the Stand. |
I read Under the Dome two months ago. A really fun read with some likable characters and an interesting story. I loved the book. |
The last act of the book was a total let down for me, but still, a pretty good book that was enjoyable (sans the final act). |

Sequel to The Shining features vampires????!!!!
Quote: | Stephen King announced the book’s possibility back in 2009, but it wasn’t made official until last weekend when he read an excerpt during a George Mason University awards ceremony. The sequel to The Shining is called Dr. Sleep starring psychic kiddie Danny (aka “Doc”) 30 years later. Now he eases the minds of dying hospice residents. Until some vampires arrive. Too bad Stanley Kubrick isn’t still around. |

The FDR biography, a great read on perhaps the greatest U.S. president ever. _________________ I bought one of those tapes to teach you Spanish in your sleep. During the night, the tape skipped. Now I can only stutter in Spanish.

I theoretically have three books going:
A book on finding ones identity and living life to the fullest, not completely a self help book, more something on self reflection.
The Kama Sutra
and Good Omens by Terry Goodkind and Neil Gaiman. _________________

Now on to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince |
Order of the Phoenix was my least favorite Harry Potter book. Harry's attitude of not taking Dumbledore/Occlumency seriously really annoyed me. Half-Blood Prince is much better though.
I'm reading A Dance with Dragons right now. I really buckled down and got through the first four books of this series pretty quickly, but for some reason I'm unmotivated to read this one. _________________

hey everyone. I've never been much of reader, but when I think about it, what better way to enrich and manifest my interests than through literature?
So my question is if anyone of you kind souls could recommend some good books dealing with the following topics I'd be very appreciative!
-football
-psychology/neuroscience (wish i would have majored in one)
-drugs... controversial, i know. BTW I do not do or condone drugs! I simply wish to understand them and how the interact w/ nervous system
-hip hop/ rap music
-classic rock
-motivational/biographical stuff
I'm a 26 year old and spend the majority of my time in my career but I figured its time I learn about what actually interests me. Thanks in advance everyone. _________________

Not sure if you want college or pro football, but Meat Market by Bruce Feldman is a great book about the world of college football and recruiting. _________________

I'm about midway through When Pride Still Mattered. It's a very interesting biography. Starts a bit slow and Maraniss really concerns himself with details. While that makes it a little dry over the beginning, it really makes it read so much better when his football life starts picking up. So far very good.

I'm flipping between Joe Haldeman's The Forever War, which is really good....and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, because everyone else is doing it. _________________
