Men,
I just read a recent mock drafter having us take Marlin Jackson at #24. Here is what they said...
"Doesn’t fill the biggest need, but we’ve heard whispers that the Packers love Jackson. This would be considered a reach by some, but Jackson’s versatility as a safety could be the deciding factor. "
I'm not convinced they'll take this guy, unless Thomas Davis is gone.
Thoughts??? |

i think their just feeling out options in case their guy isn't available
my biggest concern is i've heard that they've looked at charlie frye, marlin jackson, reynaldo hill cb(florida), however i've not heard about any players like: roth, ruud, pollack, davis, pool yet. it's possible i overlooked that but a lot of the guys i have seen are position changers |

| Some of those top names I'm sure they expect to be gone. Others...they've already seen enough tape etc to know what they can do. Just guessing thats why. |

| Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Michigan tried Marlin Jackson at Safety for a while (I think his junior year), and he stunk, so they moved him back to CB. If that is indeed the case, the Packers have no business drafting him to be a safety. |

| I like Marlin Jackson, but I think he's a reach at #24. I do think he'd make an excellent 2nd round pick, and might be there for our first 2nd round selection. I'm also reading that there may be some trades, involving Green Bay acquiring more first day picks. Najeh Davenport may be gone y'all. |

| I don't mind seeing Davenport go, but I either want a Second Round Pick and a late pick, or 2 third round picks and a later round. |

I'll take a third round pick for Davenport any day! I like Tony Fisher better anyway.
I also heard we're giving our 1st rounder to Indy for their 1st rounder and 2nd rounder. Although, this doesn't make a whole lotta sense for Indy, if Thomas Davis and Pollack are gone by 24, I'd like to see it happen. |

| The source is Tom Silverstein writing for the Sporting News saying that TT gutted his defense and is looking for a starters through the draft. |

| I think hoping for a 2nd for Najeh might be a tad high. I think TO got traded for a 2nd last year. |

We would probably throw in some extra picks or another player for him. Maybe we will keep Kampman and trade him as well. _________________
