So I thought that with most sports being in the off-season and amidst lockouts/potential lockouts, it would be a good time for a draft like this.
This draft is going to be an "All Time City Draft" with the the NFL, NBA and MLB being the sports drafted. There is a twist tho- with each selection you have to select a specific statistical year for that player. If you do not specify a year with your selection then it will not be viewed as a valid selection and the player will still be available for others to select. Once a player is selected all years of that player are no longer eligible for selection. Also the selected player must have played the position that you intend to put them in during the year that you selected them there, the only exception would be the DH position.
Also for offensive lineman since individual statistics are hard to come by they will be based off of their careers. Also with the coaches/coordinators they must be selected based on specific years and been in the role given to them on your team.
The roster requirements are as follows:
NBA ~ 12 players 1 coach
MLB ~ 25 players 1 manager
NFL ~ 40 players 1 head coach and 2 coordinators
The selections will be based on 2 hour time slots from 8am to midnight CST. All rosters will be occurring in 1 draft. The draft will be in a staggered snake format and trades are allowed but must be even. Also in the later rounds there will be multiple picks per round.
Right now I am looking at 8 cities/teams. Also the city selected must have or have had a professional franchise in all 3 sports. Also each team may only be used in 1 city, if they have moved)
EDIT: Also the sports-reference.com website will be used for all statistics seeing how some websites have difference in WAR and other advanced stats.
1) sporty ~ Minnesota (Vikings/Lakers/Twins)
2) Its A Sabotage ~ Dallas (Cowboys/Mavericks/Rangers?)
3) mgoblue44 ~ Toronto (Argonauts/Rapters/Blue Jays)
4) billzz ~ Seattle (Seahawks/Supersonics/Mariners)
5) PyroDog ~ Miami (Dolphins/Heat/Marlins)
Any other questions please let me know! Read the rules carefully... _________________

For the Dallas area wouldn't it be Mavs, Cowboys, Rangers seeing how they (the Rangers) are the baseball team in the DFW metroplex area?
And no not any player from any year- it must be in the respective American professional sports league.
NBA ~ 1949 to 2011 seasons and it will include both the ABA & NBA players.
NFL ~ 1922 to 2011 seasons and will include the NFL, AFCC & AFL players.
MLB ~ 1901 to 2010 seasons and will include the MLB players _________________

honestly id let you call the shots Id be more than happy to throw in my two sense and just to get another opinoin on who to take. Or if you can't make a pick I'd take someone who we both are good with. If you just want to run it by yourself thats more than fine too. _________________

And no to be a jerk but you would have to find a co-gm for me to allow you to have a team. You bailed on me more than once in other drafts so I would be extremely leery to allow u to have one on your own. |
ya i know i've been really stupid on these drafts before and realized i really need someone else to co-gm and like said just kinda throwin my two sense. _________________

I'd sign up for this but I'm not big on the stats aspect of it. Because stats are very subjective. Some people might like certain stat categories and not other ones. It's tough to please the crowd with the stats. Just my take on it. And with this many rounds, the draft will take a long time to be completed which is a reason to believe why people aren't over flowing to sign up. _________________
