love this deal, we got more than we gave up....Bibby can easy replace Hinrich, Crawford is a scorer giving us points off the bench, and 1st round pick gives us addittional young talent

I cannot believe we traded Kirk. I thought Flip loved him, and he's been pretty solid for us I thought.

+1 to this comment and your previous comment and thank you for starting the new thread E. I love the opening post. Slowly but surely Leonsis and Ernie have this team headed in Tge right direction just like Leonsis and McPhee did with Tge caps! I'm so, so excited about getting Crawford and another 1st round pick. I hope we can get something for Blatche before the trade deadline or Lewis, but I doubt we will. I'm actually still in Shocked this deal got done.

Blatche will be traded.
I can feel it.

I bet they'll pull off a deal with Detroit.
I can see them swinging Blatche/Yi for Rip Hamilton and DaJuan Summers or Blatche/Yi/Thornton for Ben Wallace/Rip Hamilton.

I'm torn, because I think Blatche will be a very good player.
Given another summer to get in shape (he was actually in good shape before injuring his foot this summer) he can be a real asset. However, if they're committed to running and getting shooters, I hope they can acquire Rip Hamilton.

Flip loves his former players.

I still think they'll draft Josh Howard to the Celtics...

Probably for a 1st round pick and "cash considerations" or maybe Semih Erden (they SURELY won't get Avery Bradley, Luke Harangody, or Glen Davis).

Rip Hamilton used to be a good player, but if we acquire him, especially for Blatche, I'll lose it. He's now an "okay" player who has a "not okay" contract. You can't take on 3 year, $38M contracts for mediocre 33-year-olds, particularly on teams that are terrible. And especially not for the one semi-meaningful trade chip we have left (Blatche).

Honestly, I don't know what we could get for Blatche at this point. No one is going to give us anything particularly significant for him, I don't think, but we can't just give him away either. He's more valuable than a salary dump. So I just don't know. I'd love to get a deal like we got for Hinrich --- young guy with significant upside and a 1st rounder. If we could throw in another moderately useful player (Thornton or Howard come to mind immediately), I'd be even happier.

How has Hamady played so far? Loved him when he was at Rutgers.

He's spent some time in the D-League.
Otherwise, he's spent time on the bench.

I agree with E and what St21 was saying about Blatche, he can still improve he's only 24. Like st21 said he was in good shape till the broken foot, then he's had leg problems and another injury I can't think of this year. He's played through a lot of stuff. We shouldn't just be looking to dump him. The only deal we should be looking to move him for is a player comparable (can put up 15-20 pts and can rebound) I'd also like the player to be under, preferably closer to 25. Or a draft pick. I want the guy gone but I don't want to just give him away for some over the hill players who do nothing for this franchise in the long term. The Hinrich deal was good because we got Jordan Crawford and a 1st round pick. I'd say Bibby is below what Hirich is at this point in his career but he gives John Wall a wealth more experience and can teach him as much as even Sam Cassel. Bibbys been in the playoffs virtually every year on those Kings teams that had classic match ups with the Lakers and Trailblazers, then he helped the young Hawks grow up and got them to the playoffs. I think his experience helps as much or even more than Hinrichs for Wall.

If we move Blatche we have be looking for some kinda deal that helps us in the future like that. otherwise, keep Blatche, keep developing him McGee, Yi, Seraphin, Booker and even Ndjaye as our future bigs. It isn't just going to happen overnight. We have to look at the youth with all of our team, especially the bigs and be patient in their development.

I understand where you coming from but Blatche is somebody you do not want around Wall or any of your younger players if you going to go with the youth movement. Blatche does not suck but he is a loser. What I mean by this is he doesnt give max effort and makes horrible decisions but he can play. I watched the whole Pacer game and a few others and was shock how bad he makes McGee look. Now I have bashed McGee and dont really see him us much but if he is stuck playing beside Blatche much longer he really is going to go downhill. Blatche never rotates over. I mean like never. Its ridiculous when you know your center is going to go for every single block in the lane but you PF never rotates over. Then McGee gets frustrated and we all know how he acts once he is frustrated. Then on the offensive end he just takes bad shots.

I think the Wiz should move him at all costs. Can not let him influence young guys like Wall, Booker and McGee.
