With their Second Overall Selection in the 1989 NFL Draft the Green Bay Packers select Tony Mandarich T Michigan State.
We could of had Barry Sander, Derrick Thomas, or Deion Sanders.
When went ahead to someone with liking of steriroids. |

Im a vikes fan, how high would either the moss torching of you guys in 98 (you know it's true) or the elimination this year in the playoffs.
Im not trying to get everyone pissed or anything, but if I do, then sorry |

| Mossman, as painful as it is to admit those were two bad moments. This year worse than '98. However the '02 loss to the Falcons was worse. |

| Its deffinatly the lost to the Falcons in Lambeau in 02'. I mean clearly we were the better team in that game but the better team never showed up....and were run all over by Vick and the Falcons. |

OK...the Moss thing is like forgotten. 4th and 26, WON'T be.
I was at the T-Buck game in the metro dish where the Pack had the Vikes BEAT, Jim Freaking McMahon drops back and T-Buck decided to watch for the scramble instead of his guy, who catches about a 40 yard bomb with 3 secons left and jump OB so the Vikes get a FG to win it. THAT was worse than Moss to me. This years playoff loss...no biggie, Pack D stunk too bad to get past the Falcons or Eagles anyway.
4th and 26...worst ever. |

Personally, I don't look at the drafting of Mandaroid as bad as most people due to the fact that he had everyone fooled. We desperately needed an OT and he was rated by everyone as one of the best Tackle prospects ever. I thought that the drafting of Buckley was much worse because they knew that he was 5 foot nothing.
However, I don't think that it compares to "4th & 26" or the first ever Lambeau Field playoff loss. Here are my explanations...somewhat lengthy.
"4 & 26 Effect"
The way that the 2003 season turned into such a season of destiny and then to have it end the way that it did was so shocking. The Packers lost a number of games that they seemed to have under control that year. Kansas City comes to mind and the Monday Night game vs. Philadelphia. As the playoff game unfolded I wasn't going to let myself get too excited because of the memory of those games, but when they had the Eagles 4th & 26 I felt so at ease and said to myself that the game was won (as I thought so many times that regular season). They fooled me again.
"Falcons Playoff Loss Effect"
Losing to the Falcons has led to so much worse than just the first playoff loss at home. The Packers no longer have the home field edge that they did before that game. I think that they were 4-4 in the regular season at home this past season and then of course the playoff game. If Sherman can't get the home field aura back, I think that is going to be his downfall. |

The year 2004 ...
...and with their first round selection, Green Bay reaches and selects a 2nd-tier cornerback who can't cover, but sure as hell can grab, grab, grab ... |
