He is 6'6" 242, ran a 4.39 at combine and has great hands.
Think Dolphins will take a shot with him in maybe the 3rd round? |

Projections on Jones range anywhere from late in the first round to undrafted.
He's a college QB who was always a threat to run. When you also factor in that he's projected at WR/TE in the NFL, you have all the makings of another "slash" type player -- the kind that Bill Cowher covets so dearly (Kordell Stewart, Hines Ward, Antwaan Randle El).
I think he'd be more of a 4th round prospect, but he might not even be on the board when Miami makes it's second pick (wherever that will be). _________________ FF Member #1031 |

Basically it boils down to who values Matt Jones the most. If they think he will help their team, he could go in the second, but I agree that he will most likely go late 3rd to early 5th. _________________ FF Member #1000

Just read an article by ESPN's Chris Mortensen where he said that Matt Jones is going to be the superstar of this draft.
I'm wondering whether Nick Saban will shock the NFL and take him #2. Here are Jones' measurables from the article:
Height: 6-6¼
Weight: 242
40 time (hand-timed): 4.37 and 4.39
40 time (electronic): 4.40
Vertical jump: 39.5 inches
Standing broad jump: 10 feet, 9 inches
There was a really good comment from Nick Saban in the article. He said "Matt Jones single-handedly won more games than any other player in the SEC."
Food for thought. _________________ FF Member #1031 |

I would be surprised if Saban took him with the 2nd pick. Not unhappy, just surprised. Faster than just about anyone on the field, 6'6", arguably the best athlete in the draft, I'm thinking lots of "fade" routes, jump balls (who's going to cover him?). How about WR and backup QB in one pick?
OK, if we can't trade down and get this guy and we use the #2 to get him, I won't lose any sleep.
If nothing else it's gonna be fun to watch him play. |

| personally i think jones will land with the eagles. they will be a good team regardless of how the draft goes and have the ability to take a risk on a guy like this with tons of potential. they have the # 31 pick in the draft and i think if hes there the eagles will take him. |
