2003 NFL Draft News
Shane Walton returned an interception for a 99-yard touchdown to help the North win the Senior Bowl 17-0. Larry Johnson carried the ball 13 times for 59 yards and was selected the game's MVP. The North defense shut out three of the nation's top QBs; Carson Palmer, Kliff Kingsbury, and Chris Simms. Source: ESPN
Wednesday's Senior Bowl practice was watched by more scouts and NFL officials then any other practice. Running back Justin Fargas and Earnest Graham took advantage of the situation and had great practices. They both ran well and caught the ball out of the backfield. Seneca Wallace also impressed and showed he can put some zip on his passes. Jerome McDougle displayed great athletic ability and was quick and explosive off the ball. Source: ESPN and TFYDraftPreview

Texas receiver Roy Williams has decided to return for his senior season at Texas and will not enter the NFL draft. Williams would have been a first round pick in the 2003 NFL draft. To protect himself during his senior season he's taken out an $3 million insurance policy in case he gets injured. Source: Monterey Herald
NFL draft hopefuls continued to show off their skills during Tuesday's Senior Bowl practice. Carson Palmer continued to impress scouts and is solidifying his status as the number one pick. Taylor Jacobs continued to perform extremely well during practice. His speed and route running ability make him the best receiver at the Senior Bowl. Another receiver performing well was Arnaz Battle. He caught everything thrown his way, but will need a quick 40 time to move up the draft boards of NFL teams. Some players didn't fair as well during the practice sessions. QB Kliff Kingsbury struggled making some throws and scouts are concerned about his arm strength. Tennessee WR Kelly Washington will leave school after an injury-plagued sophomore season and enter the NFL draft. Source: UPI
Miami RB Willis McGahee and WR Andre Johnson have decided to enter the NFL draft. McGahee tore two ligaments in his left knee in a national title game and could be sidelined for over a year. Source: Fox Sports
Monday's Senior Bowl practice standouts included QB Carson Palmer, RB Justin Fargas, OL Torrin Tucker, DT Ty Warren, and WR Taylor Jacobs. Palmer showed off the arm strength that could make him the number one pick overall. Fargas displayed great vision and explosiveness. Tucker drove-opposing defenders off the ball and opened holes. Warren commanded double teams all afternoon yet collapsed the pocket, pushing blockers into the backfield. Jacobs caught everything thrown to him in practice and displayed good speed and quickness. Florida State wide receiver Anquan Boldin said Wednesday that he was foregoing his senior season and entering the NFL draft.

University of Florida quarterback Rex Grossman has decided to forego his final season of college eligibility and will enter the NFL draft. Grossman joins a draft that is already loaded with top QB prospects and isn't expected to be one the top QBs drafted. Source: ESPN
All-American running back Willis McGahee tore the ACL in his left knee in the Fiesta Bowl. McGahee, a sophmore, was expected to make himself eligible for the 2003 NFL draft, and could have been a top selection in the first round. However, now he may need more then a year to rehab the knee and will probably return to Miami. Source: ESPN

Louisville defensive end Dewayne White decide to skip his senior season and enter the NFL draft. White had 10 1/2 sacks as a junior, 15 as a sophomore, and 12 as a freshman. Source: SportingNews
