    Sugar Bowl, 1/ 2

    Miami/Florida

The rivalry the Hurricanes long wanted to renew is back as Big East champ Miami look to state their case for a possible share of the national title when they take on hated rival and SEC league winner Florida.  We stated that the Sun Bowl was a great contest to watch earlier last week but  from a scouting point of view this is the game of the entire bowl season.  As many as 17 players from these two teams could impact the first 45 picks of the NFL Draft over the next three years, a testament to the great talent that comes from the Florida schools.  The fireworks began even before the coin toss and their are tremendous match-ups throughout this contest; Miami’s explosive defensive line with tackle Damione Lewis and the unheralded William Joseph (who'll be a great defensive end in the pro's) against an offensive line the possesses the best pair of  tackles in the nation but then again, Miami has an excellent duo with the high flying Bryant McKinnie manned against another top-flight pass rusher, Alex Brown, a prospect that could be moved to outside linebacker if he leaves Gainesville.  Add in their top run stuffer Gerard Warren, a junior  and defensive tackle that will be selected in the middle of next April's first round.  UF’s great young receivers go up against a solid Miami secondary which includes underclassmen Mike Rumph and Leonard Myers, one of the most improved senior cornerbacks that will be available in the draft.  Miami has a trio of top wide outs, one which will be a top 12 pick, another that could sneak into the final portion of the first frame and yet a third that will be a late round choice trying to beat a good young Gator defensive backfield which includes solid cover-corner Bennie Alexander, who may enter the draft.  Their is also a lot of talent in the ground game; the Hurricanes are loaded at running back and led by James Jackson, a versatile and intelligent runner that is very productive.  Florida sports a solid future prospect in Earnest Graham, a strong interior runner with decent speed.  Watch for Gator senior fullback Rod Frazier, a tough guy that opens holes for the running game, catches the ball well out of the backfield and someone we expect to be playing next September.  Don't forget linebacker extraordinaire Dan Morgan, a versatile first round prospect that can play on the inside or outside.  We could continue forever!
