#86-MIKE ROBERG University of Idaho Vandals 6:04.2-263

    ANALYSIS
Positives... Genetically heavy athlete with the body of an offensive lineman and the quickness of a fullback...Has impressive linear acceleration off the snap... Developed better hand usage in the last year, preventing defenders from jamming him at the line of scrimmage...Makes proper body adjustments getting to the ball in traffic...Has the vision needed to come back for the off-target passes and shows excellent snatch-&-reach ability as a pass catcher...Flexible in his movements and is adept at making the over-the-shoulder grabs...Mature, responsible person who was left on his own by his parents to finish high school, raising his younger sister while also attending classes and competing in football.

Negatives... Has very poor eating habits and will quickly get out of shape during the off-season... Despite his acceleration and quickness, he needs to show better foot agility, as he tends to trip over himself when trying to get into deep routes...Poor conditioning results in a loss of stamina later in games...Rarely uses his size to his advantage as a blocker, more often than not, just standing around making passive attempts to contain the defender...His lack of football instincts (also struggles in the class room) resulted in several experiments at various positions before settling in at tight end...While physically strong, he needs to gain muscle tone...Shows little explosion in his blocks, rarely gaining leverage...Great character, but needs a more balanced diet and must cut down on his beer consumption.

    CAREER NOTES
Three-year starter at tight end who began his career as a defensive end before moving to defensive tackle prior to discovering himself on offense as a sophomore...Well-respected by his coaches and teammates, he is regarded as having the best hands of any Vandal to perform at the tight end position...Finished his career with 64 receptions for 722 yards (11.3 avg) and ten touch-downs, finding the end zone a very impressive once every 6.4 catches.

REMIND ME OF... Indianapiolis' Marcus Pollard.

GAZING INTO THE CRYSTAL BALL... If someone can convince this kid to get his head out of the beer keg long enough to digest a playbook, they will have a very effective short-area receiver, but man, this kid has got to start realizing his athletic ability will only get him so far in life.
