By: Douglas E. Love

Round 1 | Round 2 | Round 3

32. Cleveland WR Arizona Dennis Northcutt 5-10 / 175
--A big time playmaker at wide receiver. Northcutt's value has been enhanced by his good return skills.

33. New Orleans DE Kansas State Darren Howard 6-4 / 280
--Sack artist who has first round talent. New Orleans grabs some defensive line help. Makes good sense, good value pick. Still have to question why they didn't take Redman here.

34. Cincinnati S/CB LSU Mark Roman 5-11 / 188
--Roman is an talented athlete who can step in and play safety or corner. Leapt up the board with impressive work outs.

35. San Francisco DE Virginia Tech John Engelberger 6-4 / 265
--Good, quick, hard working defensive end. Very similar to Patrick Kerney. Solid character guy. Non-stop motor.

36. Philadelphia WR So. Mississippi Todd Pinkston 6-2 / 168
--Player who is frightfully thin for the NFL. Has good hands and good speed, has to prove he can take a NFL hit.

37. Atlanta OG/T So. California Travis Claridge 6-5 / 303
--Could have grabbed Redman here, but have needs on OL too. Claridge is versitile enough to play inside or out.

38. Pittsburgh LT Arizona State Marvel Smith* 6-5 / 320
--Natural left tackle. Junior who came out early. Will have a chance to compete for starting job. Good upside.

39. Chicago SS Nebraska Mike Brown 5-10 / 204
--Four year starter. All-American. The drafting of Brown sends a signal that Urlacher will play OLB. Nice compliment to Parrish.

40. Denver OLB Michigan Ian Gold 6-1 / 221
--Definite need. Gold showed great athletic ability at the combine. Displays good chase down skills.

41. Arizona OLB Tennessee Raynoch Thompson 6-2 / 220
--Light, overrated, OLB, who plays hard, takes good angles, and hits hard. Showed good leadership skills on championship team.

42. NY Giants DE Alabama Cornelius Griffin 6-3 / 297
--Good pick for a team very thin along the defensive line. Can play inside or out; Griffin's stock has been steadily rising for the past few months.

43. San Diego FS Marshall Rogers Beckett 6-1 / 207
--The only surprise about this pick is that Beckett gets picked before Deon Grant. Beathard loves his size and upside.

44. Green Bay OG Tennessee Chad Clifton 6-5 / 334
--Clifton has good speed for a big man (4.90 forty in individual workouts). Will be a able to step up and compete right away.

45. Denver(via Baltimore) FS Arkansas Kenoy Kennedy 6-1 / 203
--Kennedy is a slow, big hitting, safety. Doesn't seem like any better a pro prospect than Larry Atkins.

46. New England OT Hawaii Adrian Klemm 6-4 / 307
--Natural left tackle. Good, swift, quick feet. Was projected to go higher. This pick is a blessing for Bledsoe.

47. Oakland WR West Virginia Jerry Porter 6-2 / 221
--Incredible, super acrobatic, wide receiver. A bit raw, but has shown flashes of unbelievable athletic potential.

48. San Francisco(via NY Jets) CB Texas A&M Jason Webster 5-9 / 180
--Smallish corner who was projected as a day two pick. Posesses 4.44 speed and good hips.

49. Dallas CB Tennessee Dwayne Goodrich 5-11 / 195
--Convensional wisdom said OLB here. But with Sanders on his way out, Goodrich, the track-star man-to-man cover corner, will be expected to start this fall.

50. Detroit OLB West Virginia Barrett Green 6-0 / 233
--Green is a viciously hard hitting player, who will fit in nicely next to Chris Claiborne and Stephen Boyd.

51. Tampa Bay(via Carolina) OG Tennessee Cosey Coleman* 6-5 / 322
--Dungy couldn't believe Coleman was still on the board, had to make to move to get him. This is the first draft day trade.

52. Seattle CB Virginia Tech Ike Charleton* 5-11 / 205
--With the recent addition of Vinson, and now Charleton, Holmgren wants to be sure he strengthens his weaknesses.

53. Maimi OT Mississippi Todd Wade 6-7 / 328
--Wade is an excellent value at 53. He's posesses good size and speed. Can play RT and may have feet to play left.

54. Kansas City S Oklahoma William Bartee 6-1 / 192
--Usually KC takes big name players from big name schools. Bartee posted big time work out numbers and also played in the Senior Bowl.

55. Minnesota(via Washington) DT Wake Forest Fred Robbins 6-4 / 312
--Robbins is a player that has had his moments. The key will be to get him to consistantly perform at a high level.

56. Minnesota DE Miami (FL) Mike Boireau 6-4 / 274
--Selecting Boireau here is almost as suspect as the Underwood selection last year, but commitment to improving the line should have Randle renegotiating his contract right now.

57. Carolina(via Tampa Bay) FS Tennessee Deon Grant* 6-2 / 209
--For a guy who led the nation in INT's last year, Grant's slide late into the second round was not anticipated. But Carolina was wise enough to jump ahead of Buffalo... and now has some exceptional young talent in Anderson and Grant.

58. Buffalo S Georgia Tech Travares Tillman 6-1 / 194
--Missed out on Grant, and selects Tillman to fill a big void. Tillman's biggest asset is that he is a very intelligent player.

59. Indianapolis DE/OLB Auburn Marcus Washington 6-3 / 254
--Washington is a player who can be utilized like Abraham. His 4.66 speed is quick enough to get round the corner, and can also play some linebacker.

60. Jacksonville C No. Iowa Brad Meester 6-4 / 298
--Here's another surprise. Everyone expected St. Clair to come off the board before Meester. a player that puts forth good effort and wants to be better.

61. Philadelphia(via Tennessee) OT Arkansas Bobby Williams 6-4 / 335
--For a team that is looking to upgrade their OL, Philly has done quite well. First signing Runyan, and now drafting Williams.

62. St. Louis CB Oklahoma St. Jacoby Shepard 6-1 / 195
--St. Louis pulls its second shocker of the draft, by selecting Jacoby Shepard, at pick 62, over Sanders, Harrison, and Edwards.
